i hope they don't drag them not knowing each other's identity out too long like the scenes where they're in the same room but talking to each other through text is driving me crazy already
the duality of zhou ye is insane she really can pull off a resting bitch face suited for villains and sweet innocent baby angel so well, indeed one of my fave promising young actresses
the last scene was cute as hell omg..... her laugh and smile after he was like "i didn't?" was shin hye totally breaking character and i love that. their chemistry is really chemistry. 🥹🥹
it’s such a shame that youku really dropped the ball when it came to this drama especially in regards to the lack of proper subs and when we did get them, it was extremely slow. it was frustrating at times but i don’t regret seeing this to end because i still found it enjoyable to watch. in a way, it made the execution more natural.
it took awhile for them to start dating but the sweetness after was worth it. their chemistry was good but what i commend is the character development of the leads. i have to say the conflict between them was written really well towards the end. it wasn’t a black or white situation so to see the unnecessarily harsh criticism for the fl based on everybody’s comments was disappointing. her wanting independence was very valid - to be seen as person and not just someone’s girlfriend. she was naive and clumsy at the beginning but slowly learnt to become more professional in her career. my admiration and respect for her grew throughout the drama. he became more caring and loving which is of course the classic tsundere trait but something you’re always happy to see.
it was so incredible to see both their growth as a person and maturity when facing their problems. to be able to reflect on yourselves, admit when you’re wrong and apologise takes courage. they didn’t sweep it under the rug but faced it head on. she admitted she became more insecure and sensitive while he admitted he was overbearing and interfering without consideration for her feelings. it was a great display of communication. i liked the highlight of learning from and teaching the other in a relationship. they had a different approach when it came to handling cases. while yes, being able to seperate your personal emotions from your work is important, being empathic is too. kindness is not a weakness but also a strength.
this was a surprise to me as i expected a fun silly romcom and it was but it also had heart and realism which i’d argue is what’s lacking in this genre these days. the legal aspect didn’t feel overwhelming or boring, it had a nice balance. i loved the secondary characters - their work colleagues and friends who was a scene stealer on their own but also the parents of our leads. it was refreshing to such supportive and caring parents which is unfortunately rare in dramas. an underrated gem for sure! i’ll definitely miss them.
the ending was so cute!! 🥹🥹 i liked that the wedding wasn't overtly fancy and the most important thing is they had each other surrounded by friends and family
but the contrast of her not being afraid to be snarky to him online is funny
will continue my commentary from ep 2 :D
other 3 is coming out in a few hours
like this one in particular is giving regal queen vibes
