HAPPY 1ST ANNIVERSARY to one of the only xianxias that managed to capture my heart!!!
i still remember the time it aired like it was just yesterday. i was relatively new to cdramas so i was more of a lurker but oh man, this drama made me VOCAL. i began with leaving a few comments but pretty quickly i've accepted my fate and made camp in the comment section. every single day like clockwork, i came back and it became a spamming page for me LOL.
in honour of the 1st anniversary, i'm bringing back my review for those who are feeling a little nostalgic. i haven't read it in awhile so doing it now is making me emotional and reaffirming that it's indeed a drama i'll forever cherish deep in my heart. i miss them so much.
we all know how wordy i've been for the past 2 weeks but i still wanted to share my final overall thoughts
watching this drama was like getting buried underneath the covers on a cold winter night - warm and comforting. i'm so grateful to have experienced lin yi yang and yin guo's story and romance. the wonderful feelings of first love and the innocence and awkwardness that comes with it. we've all been saying this (and will keep doing so in our graves) but the chemistry between wu lei and zhao jin mai was AMAZING and so was their acting. they were so incredible in their roles that i truly don't think anyone could pull it off as well. i will never forgive censorship for taking away what could have been the more passionate and intimate scenes. yes the sweet ones was lovely but i did feel it was still lacking without the former.
it was indeed a simple story where nothing much happened - cheesy and unrealistic at times? perhaps but at the same time it was the kind where you can shut your brain off and simply enjoy the (sickenly) sweet moments. the kind where you can escape reality. after all, doesn't real life already suck? it's not a bad thing to find comfort in the fictional lives of these characters. i have to admit that i'm not someone interested in sports so the scenes where they played billiards was a little boring. the secondary characters was refreshing in the fact they loved and supported our leads instead of being fueled by petty jealousy. no unnecessary conflicts, just pure wholesomeness. i'm really going to miss them so much.
thank you (and sorry) for putting up with me. hope to see y'all in the next romance drama. π₯°β€οΈ
"i used to feel empty no matter how hard i tried. if life is unfair, why do we struggle? there's no place i have to go. there's nothing i really want. there's none i have to be with. until i meet you amidst a snowstorm of love." β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ
"i've being creating a false world for myself for over a decade. it looks nice but that's not what i want. later, in my world, a girl also appeared. she brought me out. it's you who helped me get over the hurdle and get me back on the court. it's you who gave me the courage to return to reality."

her posts about him on her moments!!! the fact she opened it to let him know all her thoughts and feelings is a different kind of vulnerability π₯Ήπ₯Ή
