"Durian's Affair" it's a drama about two women from the Joseon Dinasty that time travel to the present.
Ri An and So Jeo are related because So Jeo was married to Ri An's son. He recently died and So Jeo tries to kill herself for grief. When trying to save So Jeo, unexpectedly the two time travel to Seoul and have to adapt to a whole new way of living.
It's a strange drama from start to finish, I say that in every way, both in terms of story and development. I've been watching K-dramas for 14 years and it was the first time I watched a production like this. Look, whoever wrote this drama must have been on an acid trip! HAHAHA'
I wasn't expecting to see a daughter-in-law declare her love to her mother-in-law, in front of her husband and that she wanted her mother-in-law to love her back. Then when Se Mi finds out that her brother is married to Do Yi?! She freaked out not because of the age difference or because he's her brother, but because Do Yi is hers!
I really liked Chi Young, he is an interesting character and was someone who always tried to help Ri An and So Jeo, I was hoping that Ri An would like him too, but I knew that wouldn't be possible because she never really saw him, since she always saw her old husband in him and only thought about Dol Soe.
The scenes of Chi Young dancing and singing for Ri An were so cute, he just wanted her to see him, to pay attention to him and the character's ending ended up being sad, as he married Woo Mi, who she lied that she was pregnant with his baby, he found out about it and he also has to take care of Do Yi, who lost her mind after Ju Nam and Chi Gam disappeared.
It's a very dramatic story, but at the same time it has many comical moments, such as Ri An and So Jeo's reactions to all the changes.
The ending could have been better, a little more concise, but what could you expect differently?! In a way, Ri An and So Jeo had their happy ending, as So Jeo stayed in the present with Deung Myung and Ri An returned together with Chi Gam. What confused me was that Ri An ended up coming back on the day Dol Soe died and since they didn't find his body, Chi Gam became Dol Soe and he ended up not dying. Except that then the timeline becomes extremely confusing, as she probably got pregnant, but So Jeo wouldn't be her daughter-in-law, since Ri An ran away with Dol Soe and so Eon doesn't exist?! I think I ended up thinking too much. kkkkkkkkkkk'
