"Miss Monte-Cristo" is another disappointing revenge drama, since the focus is completely scattered and the drama ended up dragging and lacking direction.
The story itself was good, but they didn't know how to develop it properly. The biggest problem lies in the lack of realism of the characters, it's as if they lived in a different world from ours. Usually, it's the same person who commits the crimes, but here it was basically the entire cast. I think the scripts watched too much "The Penthouse". HAHAHA'
Ha Ra "killed" Eun Jo and along with Se Rin, Eun Jo's father. Then we have Ha Ra's mother, who killed Ha Jun's mother. Ha Jun's father made Hwang Ji Na's husband kill himself. Na Wook Do killed Hwang Ji Na and her secretary killed him out of revenge. Eun Jo killed Se Rin's father, to get revenge for what happened to her father.
I really liked Ha Jun, he's a different and fun character, but anyone who watches him realizes that he has no chance with Eun Jo. I lost count of how many times Eun Jo and Ha Jun got engaged and how many times they said it was all a lie, then said it was true... you couldn't even fool anyone like that. The drama would have been better if Eun Jo really fell in love with Ha Jun and moved on with her life and Sun Hyuk also forgot about Eun Jo, understanding that there's no way to bring back the past, even if she's alive.
I agree with Ha Ra's death, but Sun Hyuk should have stayed alone, that ending with him with Eun Jo, who lost her memory of literally everything that happened in the drama... it was ridiculous.
Sun Hyuk is boring, he has no charisma, I honestly don't understand how he made Eun Jo and Ha Ra fall in love with him, I can't see anything interesting. I couldn't stand to see him crying or looking pitiful anymore, it seemed like that was all he knew how to do.
And what about Se Rin?! They didn't even have to force it much and she told everything they did with Eun Jo! The only person who made the drama worth watching was Oh Ha Ra. She is a complex, intense and totally crazy character. Choi Yeo Jin surprised me a lot, she has evolved a lot as an actress.
