One thing that does not make any sense is when everyone forgotten the Shen Family at the end, how did Shen Shaoguang…
These plot holes look to me like several people wrote this script, but didn't read what the previous writer wrote... hence the lack of explanations for important threads that had already been started... it looks a bit like sloppiness on the part of the screenwriter...

It's irritating that in this drama you have to guess and interpret everything, and it's not explained in the drama itself... I don't like stories like this with left out important and main plot threads on which it's based...

I completely agree with you that this is a predictable ending in these time travel dramas... and what was this scandal, because I didn't hear what it was about, that they introduced a ban and who introduced the ban, some Chinese institution?

No, I just asked myself this question too: how can the SHEN family give birth if the couple didn't have children... can we just guess and conclude for ourselves that they might have children after all??? I have the impression that the director forgot about what happened, or he sloppily and casually handled it without even bothering to explain it to us...

it's cute until episode 20 and then it becomes dramatic, not to mention the last episode full of breakup pain and suffering for ML... so I don't know where this is supposed to be a light drama.

It's terribly complicated and it's a pity that it wasn't explained in the drama... so many episodes and at the end many important threads left unresolved...

Title Yummy Yummy Yummy Spoiler
I started watching this story hoping it would be emotionally light and entertaining until the end. Unfortunately, I was disappointed halfway through, and seeing where it was headed, I abandoned subsequent episodes, only watching them in fragments and skipping to the last one, not wanting to hurt my heart, because I'd had enough of these sad and emotionally burdensome storylines.

Overall, the first few episodes had a balance of humor and a warm, light atmosphere that made me want to keep watching. Although the male characters, the brother and father, were acting so foolishly that my irritation with them skyrocketed. Unfortunately, like many other dramas, it lost its luster in the second half. After episode 20, it became emotionally heavy. A series that started out as funny and touching turned into something overly sad and emotionally draining.

Then came the big reveal that he wasn't actually her ancestor... really?? The conflict was drawn out impossibly, and then downplayed to insignificance...

Lin Yan's character was the most pathetic to me... I think it's unfair!!!! He spent his entire life waiting for her... First, he lost his parents, then his wife and her family. When he finally gave up his revenge and started living for real, he lost everything again and died, missing her. Those scenes of time passing, him growing older and missing her were unbearable. I don't know how any of the commenters could say he didn't regret it and that the longing wasn't so terrible. Only someone who has never truly missed anyone could say that without realizing the pain that still accompanies that longing. In this case, I think both the scriptwriter and the director went too far!!! On screen, ML's loneliness is short-lived, but when you realize it lasted for years, until he was in his old age, it's simply heartbreaking! I think it was very poorly done... they could have either given them more time to be together in their old world, or resolved it differently... It really pissed me off, and then I remember why I don't like watching these time-travel dramas; they usually end badly! Even though at the end, they show FL and ML meeting in the present day in a few seconds... Yes, they do meet again in the present day, but it happened after years of pain and loneliness! For me, it's not a happy ending!!! It contained too much bitterness, especially for ML! I feel like the writer watched his written ML character fondly as he suffered and added to his bitterness into his old age... would anyone with a healthy emotional state write something so cruel to their protagonist, only to then give them a moment of supposedly happy reunion in the present day? Seriously, was this supposed to heighten the viewer's emotions? A weak tactic.

The next theme is the family's return and their complete loss of memory of what happened... that's also cruel on the writer's part, despite their character development, but then what was the point of their entire journey???

In summary, for me, the story relied too heavily on sadness and unnecessary stretching of plot lines. It could have been a really nice, complete and emotionally positive story, but someone decided to overdo it emotionally and went overboard... well, I guess there's no point in watching these time-traveling stories after all.

That's true in Asian dramas, it's quite normal... because you need experienced, bankable actors to pull off a drama and make it a box office success... that's what counts, and there's no point in pretending... but that's just how it is when casting this type of drama. The attitudes towards age between the original characters and the actors playing them vary, and that's how it will always be, especially among fans of individual actors... I don't particularly single out any particular actor, but there are a few I appreciate for their roles in dramas.

I'm soooo tired with this biased. Please check all the young female actors' drama list and go watch them only,…
You write that playing someone 29 years younger is acting... For me, it's pushing the boundaries just to have a well-known actor in a drama (as we know, a film isn't a box office success without one). This phenomenon is repeated many times, as Asian culture views this aspect differently and treats 40-plus actors who look good after plastic surgery as 20-year-olds. Okay, she looks good at 40, but she's not 20... As I said, I'm not discounting her acting experience, but it's hard for a 40-year-old to play a naive, young girl, because it looks comical to me... And the same goes the other way. When a 20-year-old plays a 30-plus person, it's just as funny because they usually look like a fledgling chicken, not a mature man, especially in dramas about CEOs. In Asia, there's a cult of beautiful appearance, of a super-slim body, where men often look like "thin" and lack a masculine figure, and girls have the looks of girls. But that's a trend in some Asian cultures, and that's okay, that's just how it is. I watch dramas where the actors don't look like teenagers or walking anorexics, and where they don't exaggerate the age difference in the cast. You have your opinion, and I have mine, maybe mine with a European filter, so I probably judge through that prism as well.

Oh for the love.. here we go again. If you can't empathize with characters without checking actors passports then…
Learn to argue, not react rudely... I see young people don't have the patience to argue, they just immediately counterattack... it's sad... because that's what comments are for, so that anyone can join the discussion, but that doesn't mean you have to start with aggressive rejection right away...

This isn't based on any prejudice... I'm a mature woman myself, around that age, so I can speak from my perspective. And as you say, is it okay if the male actor is older and the female is younger? No... I also don't like it if the main character is supposed to be 20 or 25, and the actor is 38 or older... so it works for me regardless of whether it's a woman or a man... it's about consistency between the ages of the characters in the novel and the ages of the actors... If the difference is too great, it bothers me... and that's it, and there's no point in resorting to those tired clichés about gender discrimination. That's not the point.

Just because you've had enough doesn't mean you have to send others elsewhere. Everyone has the right to express their opinion. I'm not insulting anyone. I've watched hundreds of dramas and I see fundamental differences. You're biased, sticking to the notion of not touching older actors. But it's not about the acting, because as I said, I appreciate her experience. It's about the character's fit... Is there also such an age difference in the book? Besides, if FL is written as a young character, then maturity at that age is different than when she's 10 or 20 years older, so there's a difference, and take that into account. If the author of the novel had written a more mature character, they would have written one... Let's respect each other's opinions and not discriminate against anyone for their opinions.

Honestly, I see a significant age difference between the main actors, which is striking to me. I checked their ages, and there's an eight-year age difference between Victoria Song and Ding Yu Xi... and the actress is clearly in her 40s. I don't know why producers and directors think it doesn't matter when hiring actors... if they cast a mostly young cast for a drama, and the lead actress could often be their mother or much older sister, then I'm sorry, but it makes a difference to me... with all due respect to the skills of these older actresses, it's difficult to watch an almost 40-year-old actress playing a female lead character who is often in her 20s or 20s. Although these 40-year-old actresses are well-groomed and have undergone various cosmetic procedures, I find them rather underwhelming compared to the young male actors playing male lead characters.
