frankly, the most satisfying portrayal of a woman general that I've ever seen in a chinese drama, and maybe from any other country for that matter. still bitter/mourning the loss of what could have been in Pursuit of Jade before it unraveled, came here for a rewatch to recover a bit. this helped.
i wish MDL had info about the music and film crew. they have elevated this show to another level even as the story falls apart. And the style of music sound so familiar to me. maybe a bit of Story of Ming Lan energy? Anyone know anything about the music/sound directing?
I literally just posted the same comment as you!!!!!! 😂😂😂😂 we are thinking the same thing I just watched…
that would at least make some kind of sense. even if that's true tho, for a guy who's supposed to be good a strategy, his calculations here are severely lacking
whyyyyyy in the world does XZ think CY is at home??? first of all, does he not know her?? in the first few eps,…
also, on a separate but also annoying note. wouldn't CY have known XZ had been near her when she woke up from her injury with the blue ribbon on her head?
whyyyyyy in the world does XZ think CY is at home??? first of all, does he not know her?? in the first few eps, he literally told channing not to worry because her sister would come save her, he should absolutely know better that CY would bust out to look for channing. . and second, he has a whole army and information network???? why is he so well informed about everything else but this?? I can't tell if it's just XZ being a sloppy character or if this is sloppy writing, but I'm annoyed either way (even as I love this show)
I'm kind of over Xie Zheng, no matter how good he looks portrayed by ZLH.:1. He really left without leaving any…
this has me so tight as well. mans has a whole ass army and can't spare a few people to look out for the family that he himself put in danger. so neglectful. also, he has such an information network but still doesn't know CY's correct location? this is wild sloppy.
A few questions/loose threads from the past few eps that I'm confused and maybe a little annoyed by (as someone…
Why wasn't anyone watching and protecting Lin'an after XZ left? The falcon was probably the quickest messenger, but it's seems neglectful to not have had any security on site.
I wish we knew why XZ chose to let CY go when caught her at the cliff. Mans was panicking when he thought CY was dying, so why is he not looking out for her when he has a whole army? We have no indication that XZ knows where CY is, of if he's even looking for her or Changnin.
Why did he put the ribbon in her hair? And more importantly, wouldn't CY have known XZ was with here at some point when she realized she had the ribbon after waking up?
Also, how did the whole news about Yan Zhen bring conscripted work? Did XZ plant someone to say that in front of CY?
I'm holding out hope that future episodes may retroactively explain something of these things (some of the director's strategic choices on flashbacks are part of what gives me hope) but I'm also trying to manage my expectations. Still trying to avoid novel spoilers but Imma have to get answers if this is not resolved in some way in the upcoming eps.
Lol.. what ep you on? There’s a lot going on and ppl are not what they appear to be. Here’s a quick overview:-FL…
An excellent summary! If I may add a small point in ep 7, they are looking for the rare item to break the shapeshifting effect on Qinque Sect leader that the imposter used to take power.
