His best work is on the first three Rurouni Kenshin movies. The two new ones are pure exploitation of the franchise made with a lot of scenes that where probably cut out from the original first three movies. His dramas didn't impress me at all. Probably made to satisfy his fans.
It has nothing to do with intellectualism. It is all about a drama that its plot doesn't make sense. No sense at .all.. just a continuous back and forth in a story line that ends up looking like a continuity error because the writers obviously were unable to recall what they had already wrote. All that expensive production went in vain because the story was completely incomprehensible. Someone has to explain to those writers and those producers that invest their money that more ( complicating things for the sake of doing so) is not always better.
Excellent production, cast, acting, cinematography and direction for a drama that it's plot is so bad and had so many plot holes that make it almost unwatchable. I don't see the point of spending that much money when the story plot doesn't make sense. I ended up watching and embellished and perfectly executed nonsense.
i knew it was his voice on sisyphus !! (ep 6, last scene) his voice is very recognizable lmaoo
I watched Sisyphus up to its end just for the sake of his acting and not for the plot that was the worst ever. He is a great actor and he should get more lead roles.
Thank you for the information. I was wondering what is that city that has so many cars and so many buildings but no people walking in the streets and I assumed that this drama was filmed at small city or a set made for the drama. It seems that this is not the case as Dalian is a large and populous city. But where did its people go??! lol
I'm stuck on episode 35 for a whole month and I can't finish this drama. lol It is soooo boring... the only reason I want to finish it is that I made it to episode 35 but honestly now I really don't care how is going to end as the characters and the plot are so indifferent.
Wow, cyber bullying has now become misplaced with "personal opinions"
There is no cyber bullying when we talk about the promotion of very dangerous procedures to young people. Either we like it or not actors and actresses are role models for young people and as such they should promote healthy and good for the well being of their audiences life styles. Have you ever thought how many young women in their late twenties early thirties will consider to get botox fillers or even plastic surgeries inspired by the looks of famous actresses? Is making young women feel insecure for their appearance or believe, that it is only their appearance what it matters the most a good practice or role model?
Question ?Who are you to judge or comment about what another person may or may not have done ??Are you in her…
I belong to her audience. In other words I belong to that group of people who "buy" her on screen work. The roles that she depicts. If nothing moves on her face then she will not be able to depict them persuasively. Also overdosing on Botox sends the wrong message to the millions of young women of her age - that is quite young. Women in their thirties are considered young- and makes them believe that they will look better with the help of plastic surgeries and other similar procedures ( botox, fillers etc). This is completely wrong because all these procedures are not without side effects, and young women don't have any reason to feel insecure about their looks.
You were there when the Botox was applied on her face? Also it’s not your place to judge a person’s appearance…
I don't have to be there in order to see that she is overdosing Botox. There were scenes on this drama that she was crying and the only thing that moved on her face where her eyes and her mouth. Do you want to tell me that this practice is a positive role model for young women of her age?
I think that's not something for us to comment on, as outsiders. Maybe I'm reading it wrong, maybe it's out of…
You didn't offend me but people have the right to comment on her looks by the time that these looks is the most important requirement for actors and actresses. That is what they "sell" to their audiences when they appear on camera or on stage. Unless they are voice actors something that is not the case for Yang Mi.
The dubbing is distracting in this show so far. I'm only on episode 5. I'm not feeling hopeful that it improves.
I'm a non-native English speaker myself and I can tell you that his accent and way of speaking, sound forced and unnatural .
I have noticed though the same issue on the majority of Asian actors and actresses when they attempt to speak English. They sound unatural and have an odd accent that is neither British nor American. Though some of them pronounce the English words correctly they sound like they have a difficulty to form the words in their mouth.
I assume that this happens because some Asian languages miss completely some of the most common sounds/letters that are used in Western languages. There is no R in Chinese language neither any "th" ( as in the word thesis) in Korean language. They can't pronounce these letters ( unless they practice hard or they have already studied abroad) because these sounds don't even exist in their languages.
Anyway. At least Chinese don't sound like Greek to me because I'm Greek. They sound like Chinese to me! lol

I don't think that the English parts are dubbed just because their English sound that bad. I don't understand either why they made the "bad guys" speak in English by the time that they don't look like foreigners ( non Chinese) and they don't even have foreign names. What is the point of showing them speaking a foreign language? Unless the vilains are from another Asian country or something and they have to speak English in order to communicate with their Chinese partners.
Honestly, if you're not Korean and FROM Korea, I don't think you should have a say in whether knetz deserve to…
I totally understand how you feel when you see a distorted version of your culture, historical persons and events. I'm from Greece and something similar had happened here with a movie that was supposed to present a romance between a Greek woman and a Turkish man during the Ottoman occupation. The whole concept was completely and utterly offensive and as it was expected the movie ( that was produced in USA) wasn't released in Greece. Nobody dared to do it as 2021 is dedicated to the 200 years from the Greek war of indipendence against Ottoman Empire. This of course didn't change the insulting nature of that production that it shouldn't have been made either way. Now, regarding the show. I don't know more details about what offended you in particular as I'm not that informed on Korean history but I can understand what is the case. So kudos to you for having the proper reflexes and historical awareness to demand the cancelation of the show.
If this is true then the story plot will be completely spoiled. The whole plot was interesting as long as it talked about how nasty divorces do actually feel like, but such far fetched plot twists devaluate any attempts to talk seriously about such social matters.
I would be satisfied only if that wretched Lee Tae Oh goes to jail for all his crimes, ( murder, adultery, farud, violent assault etc) and leave these women ( first and second wife) move on with their lives.
I agree with you on the Je Hyuk and Ye Rim relationship; I might be the minority here, but I believe that their…
Get back together with who? The guy that has committed murder, he has committed adultery to both his marriages, violently assault his ex wife and his son, committed financial fraud ( with the insurance of his child and the mortgage that he took with his ex wife's financial credibility) , the guy who paid someone to stalk his ex wife and violently assault her in her own house and he established his career with the money of his (second) father in law?
Lee Tae Oh should be already in jail and you say that you would like to see them back together just for the sake of their child? What sort of role model is such a person for his child?
Don't take me wrong . I'm just asking because I have started to have second thoughts about what is the morality model of S. Korean society and particularly personal relationships. Everything is fine and all are permitted as long as they retain the external appearance of a happy marriage?
Also I have an issue with the behavior of Da Kyung's father (the second wife's father Lee Tae Oh's father in law). This guy knows that Tae Oh is a murderer and he also knows that he had withdrawn money to pay the guy who blackmailed him after he hired him to stalk his ex wife,. What sort of happiness for his daughter is trying to achieve by allowing her to keep up her marriage with such a person? Why he hasn't tell to his daughter what sort of person is her husband. Isn't his obligation to protect her?
