Certainly but judging by his choices I wouldn't say that he is using this experience and skill to get the best of roles. This particular drama was bad on almost everything. Plot, costumes, dialogues, character development, pace, and finale... What was there to be liked? Just him?? lol And now he agreed for another two seasons. So the only possible explanation for this is that he is paid an tempting eye watering amount of money. If that is the case that is good for him but bad for the producers that due to their sloppy work will not be able to justify his salary.
I don't know of course if the producers of this drama decided to produce another two seasons judging by the ratings that this drama got here. The ratings here and on other websites are most of the times unreliable. Even the reviews are unreliable. I have for example seen reviews that are written while some dramas are still on the first episodes. A very characteristic example is the reviews that appeared on The Veil drama that is now on its 6th episode and one of the reviews is already 16 days old. Same happened with Daniel Graig on the last James Bond movie. Graig didn't actually want to play for one more time this role, because he understood that this movie would cost him another 2-3 years into a contract that would prevent him to take other better for his acting career roles, but when they gave him 50 millions he accepted. But the movie took ages to be completed and to be released due to covid restrictions and now is in his mid fifties running after stage roles and the higher quality scripts that bring the awards because the James Bond movies are not the kind of movies that bring serious acting awards.
Anyway my point is that stupid roles bring good salaries but don't advance the careers of those actors and actresses who want to stay in the industry even when they are not anymore young and good looking. The actors and actresses that never run out of work are those who go for the most advantageous roles, lead or supporting and are selective, particularly if they are already known. Those who select roles for their quality and not for the money that they get paid.
lol, the older the actors get the more they are inclined to act younger than their age. That's a universal vanity…
Whatever is the case it is better to cast young people to play young characters and middle aged people to play characters of their age with a deviation of five years up or down, depending the looks. It is sad that most actors and actresses don't want to admit that they get older in a profession that if anything else is very versatile on regard of ageing. There will always be roles for all kind of ages, all kind of body types, for all kind of faces and all kind of people.
It had an interesting start with a lot of mystery and plot twists and it ended up with some secret cult prophet boll@cks that didn't make any sense. Did this drama's original writer die midway and they replaced him with someone else ???! lol

Maturity is relative and doesn't necessarily go along with the age. But even age itself is a relative term. Because ageing has nothing to do with the body but with our mentality. Why should I look past the looks? Do men regardless of their age look past women's looks? They don't regardless of their own age and that is the reason why most women are trying -sometimes way too hard- to retain their looks.

I have to agree with this warning. It is incredible how many dramas are top rated and have rather misleading stellar reviews probably because the reviewer liked the lead actor.
Most of them are too young for me. One or two could be my husband;)
I can't see what is the problem with their age and generally speaking with age differences between older women and younger men. The majority of men after all, don't have any problem to have way younger than them WAGS (wives and girlfriends). On the other hand I don't think that guys in their 20s or 30s have any particular problem to have affairs with older than them women, because modern middle aged women take good care of themselves, they are not particularly interested to get married and as such are not demanding, and they have the appropriate experience to retain interesting and enjoyable relationships. So younger men gain a lot from such kind of affairs.
Anyway... the one that I like is not in the list so I will not vote on this poll.

He is not. It is that the age of majority in S. Korea is 19 while the age of sexual consent ( read that to freak out ) is just 13. The legal working age is 18. So any woman that hasn't celebrated yet her 19 birthday, is considered a minor. But minor or not , according to the S. Korean laws any girl by the age of 13 onward has the right to consent to a sexual act if she wants to! Anyway... the case against him has many flaws because the age of majority limit didn't prevent the otherwise underage actress that Lee Kyung Young was caught having an affair with her, to sign a contract and work on national TV in the role of an adult, on an adult rated drama. I don't know if the producers asked the consent of her parents/guardians or if they didn't have to ask for it, because she was already over 18 but not yet 19 that is the legal age of full majority. FYI he wasn't charged with rape. Just for having an affair with an underage actress ( whatever underage means according to the above laws) that she was a colleague actress on the same TV drama.
P.S I'm not giving excuses to pedos but I don't think that this was the case especially in the concept of the S. K laws about age majority. That a woman is not an adult if she is not already 19 though she is allowed to sign contracts if she is 18 and to consent for sex by the age of 13! The latter sounds like a joke of an attempt to solve their demographic problem!
One of the best and more versatile actors ever. I don't have any virtual coins to send him virtual flowers but if you give me his address I will send him real flowers and two bottles of Dom Perignon directly from France for his contribution to my entertainment. He is simply the best!

You probably mean if he wasn't paid with the amount of money that he is probably paid he wouldn't accept it. But as it is well known, the quality of a project and the impact that it can have to a renown actor's career, doesn't go hand by hand with the salary. Famous actors are able to demand high salaries and be simultaneously more selective to the roles that they get. Lee Dong Wook doesn't harm his pocket when he accepts such roles. The only thing that he harms is his reputation as an actor of quality. Because if there is something that this particular drama lacked is quality.

And that is how they spoil their acting careers. Because they typecast themselves on playing the teenagers though they are not able to support the look so much younger people. And then they start abusing plastic surgeries that make them look like caricatures of their former selves.
I would advice Lee Dong Wook to select some roles with more mature/adult content. He is almost 40 y.o he is handsome and hot as hell and he plays what???.... the fox????
