Why shouldn't we defend him? Because some unknown A claims something in public? Anyone can claim anything in public…
As I have already said on another comment that is what cancel culture does. He was forced to publish an apology in order to prevent further damage from the controversy and the online gossip. There is no guilt for not have the will to be in an affair with any person and there is not guilt for not wanting to have children with this same person. As I said on another comment in order to have a child you need two people and no contraception. There are no excuses for unwanted pregnancies nowadays and particularly in first world countries. Same applies to the abortions. A woman that doesn't want to have an abortion has every right to keep her baby. In other words claiming that someone forced you to have an abortion is pure bs. If you want to keep your baby you can keep it and take this way the responsibility for your own actions too. The lack of contraception. We, the women, can't claim that we are truly emancipated when we don't want to take the responsibility of what we do with and on our bodies. What sort of emancipation is there when we don't protect ourselves from unwanted pregnancies or we do the opposite. We get pregnant in order to force a guy to marry us? Is this a responsible and adult behavior that would be beneficial in the long run for the unborn child too? Or is it an adult behavior to ruin the life , the career and the income of your ex with anonymous and vague allegations?
While this has been a nasty piece of business altogether, I can't help but feel that KSH isn't the only one to…
How could he sue him for her unwanted pregnancy? Or because he dumped her? lol If for one thing it needs two people to have a child. Two and no contraception. Now can someone explain to me why any woman who doesn't want to get pregnant from her bf doesn't protect herself ( that will be the most affected in case of an unwanted pregnancy ) to avoid it? Is S. Korea any kind of third world country that lacks of contraceptive methods perhaps? But even that is the case and let's say that woman gets eventually pregnant and she wants to keep the baby, how can someone force her to have an abortion? Did this guy grubbed her from her hair and dragged her to a clinic or something? And why this unknown A came forward just now to cry out that he left her pregnant and "forced" her to have an abortion anonymously and with vague insinuations? Why now and not then when it happened? My point is that the revenge and cancel culture has gone too far and it has to stop right now. I don't know who this guy is but I will defend him no matter what because the behavior of this unknown A is sneaky, toxic and wrong from all points of view.
SOB. and everyone defending him should be ashamed of themselves.
Why shouldn't we defend him? Because some unknown A claims something in public? Anyone can claim anything in public anonymously. I can claim that you killed my mother and you know very well that you can't prove the contrary. Should you lose your job, your income and your reputation because I said so?
That is what cancel culture does. Forces someone to apologize for vague and anonymous allegations. The "K' and the "A" split and he feels obliged to apologize in order to avoid further damage.
If it was me I would have sued each and everyone of those who insinuated that the "K" referred to me, including the unknown and coward "A" who didn't have the guts to come forward and make the allegations with facts and names.
But if she did so, she would then have to prove that she was indeed in an affair with him, and indeed pregnant by him etc something that is not so convenient as spreading anonymously rumors against someone who is the most vulnerable to these rumors due to his fame.
That movie was AWESOME! But the very ending was a little of because they already gave the verdict and one can't…
Everything was off with this drama because they didn't have enough evidences in order to arrest him in the first place and then take him to the court. They didn't have the victim's body in the first place and also nothing to connect the husband with her missing body - if they could prove in the first place that she was indeed dead and she had not faked her death. They didn't have the weapon, his DNA, his fingerprints and nothing to indicate that someone broke into the house. So how did they came up with the conclusion and he did it in order to arrest him on spot?
And the end was even more off because there is the double jeopardy rule, but he didn't also say something incriminating in the recording, not to mention that tape recordings are not accepted at any court. No only in Korea ... everywhere because they can easily been altered and faked.
Good movie but the story had some holes or lack of development...or maybe too much editing cutting out needed…
My exact thoughts too. First of all there were indeed no evidences that he killed his wife and they didn't have her body. No body means no crime. Even if her blood was on the bed what where the evidences that indicated that she was killed by her husband and not anyone else? They didn't even have any hint on how he could have moved her body out of the house. Not even a spill of blood somewhere between the bedroom and any of the apartment's doors. And they have his confession either. So how did they manage to arrest him in the first place and even take his case to a court?
Regarding the end. He didn't say anything that could convict him on the tape. And tapes are not accepted on courts even if they prosecutor and the attorney were able to surpass the Double Jeopardy rule.
It would be a euphemism if I say that this drama was unrealistic ...at the very least.
to me, a revenge drama would be good if: we cannot guess who the killer is (if the drama is determined to keep…
That is the reason why I prefer Japanese dramas. Because they go straight to the point, and with less episodes. That doesn't mean of course that I don't watch Korean dramas too but I'm very picky with them. The problem with Japanese dramas is that it takes ages to be subbed. That is their drama... lol Not to mention that some of them are hard to find.
I'm still updating my profile in case you took a look to see what I have watched, as I have watched countless Asian movies and dramas but I didn't have the time to update this account. So if you see on my profile a load of dramas watched on the same date it is just that I'm updating it with the dramas that I have already watched at some point. Just to keep a record... it is very convenient. :)

I've asked you about your nick name because Varvara is a Greek name.
I like crime, court/legal, mystery and thriller dramas and not that much the revenge ones. I'll check though your recommendation and if it has any such elements I'll definitely watch it.
It seems btw that we have completely different taste on regard of the dramas that we like to watch ( I'm not mention this as a bad thing). I've dropped f.e most of the dramas that you have reviewed like Squid Game, Arthdal Chronicles, Tale of the Nine Tailed. Crash Landing on You, and Navillera regardless of their rating. It is very interesting to see how different are the opinions of different people and it also proves what I have said here, that the reviews should not be trusted because they are actually personal opinions. I gave for example very high rating on dramas that other people didn't like and I've downvoted hard some of the most popular.
I like consistent dramas. I want them to be consistent to the genre that they supposedly belong with an interesting plot and straight to the point. I don't want to start watching a crime drama that ends up being a rom com. And I like plots that make sense and don't have a trillion holes and incomprehensible finales. ( like most of the time travel dramas for example).
So these companies should know better to do their due diligence before dropping a famous spokesperson. Now they…
Say that again for those who do put their favorite actors on a pedestal. As for me I don't even know who this guy is but I am either way against cancel culture. It is a matter of principles for me to be against whatever is toxic. Toxic cultures, toxic people, toxic emotions.
So these companies should know better to do their due diligence before dropping a famous spokesperson. Now they…
This attitude is unfair and toxic. There is no person in this world that can survive professionally under such conditions. I mean trying to prove his or her innocence against vague anonymous allegations and rumors that are taken seriously. The public should boycott the companies that approve and encourage this cancel culture because these companies are the same ones that claim on each and every ad that they embrace higher values, like inclusivity , justice and equality.
Ha ha ha.. Great review though I disagree with your opinion. I agree that this drama had plenty of Mary Sue moments but overall was consistent and one of the best of revenge/crime drama genre.
So these companies should know better to do their due diligence before dropping a famous spokesperson. Now they…
Allegations are just allegations particularly when they are not specific, they don't give clearly the name of the person that is accused and they are done online but not to the authorities. Anyone can say anything online. I can accuse you that you killed my parents and you've raped me or whatever. Does this make you automatically a murderer and a criminal? The companies that broke his contract based on vague allegations and rumors will have to compensate him. He can sue the hell out of them.
I'm sick and tired by those who accuse in public famous persons for whatever wrongdoing exist out there. And I'm also sick and tired from those who are ready to condemn them for whatever they have been accused without having in their hands evidences, official charges, verdicts... something official whatever that might be.
He is not. It is that the age of majority in S. Korea is 19 while the age of sexual consent ( read that to freak…
From what I had read about that case back when it took place, he was charged for forcing her to prostitution because he promised her a role in order to have sex with him on which she consented. The problem with this charge, is that doesn't mention that they had an affair for as long as it lasted the filming of the drama that they participated, which indicates a lot not only about his intentions but hers too.
If she was 16 as you say she should have been under the supervision of her parents. He on the other hand, claimed that he was unaware about her real age and that she had told him that she was an adult. This of course indicates that her parents were not present during the filming as they ought to.
He said that he didn't rape her but she didn't claim otherwise. But even if that was the case this can't explain how it was even possible to keep on having a sexual affair for that long and keep it also secret too for as long as they were filming that drama. My point is that it needs two people to have an affair and it is rather impossible for him to force her to be in a secret affair with him for that long without that being known to the rest of the cast and crew and her parents of course, only to become known immediately afterwards.
Anyway.. he was never charged or convicted for rape, or for pedophilia because she wasn't a child after all. If she was indeed 16 her parents should have had to give account too about their daughter's doings who had both the time and the space to be in the bed of a forty year old man for two three months ( average time of filming on such dramas) straight....
My daughter wouldn't have had my consent to work in a film industry at the age of 16 but even if she had the right to do so, I would have been present at the filming. I would have drive her at the filming location and I would have drive her home too. It is not so difficult you know to supervise your adolescent children. It is part of your obligations as a parent.
Now why her parents were absent from the filming but present at the court is something that raises a lot of questions.
I would like to recommend this drama to Lee Dong Wook himself. To see how he used to look like and what roles he used to play in order come to his senses, abandon the foxes and go get a role that is more suitable for his caliber.
There is no guilt for not have the will to be in an affair with any person and there is not guilt for not wanting to have children with this same person.
