I know some people dislike leads narrating, but I really like the way its done here, it gives that feeling of reading a book. specially with how the director tells the story with in a slice of life format, it really complements well
idk why but youku dramas almost always disappoint me in one way or another (mostly by ruining the original source…
I've only watched the first 3 episodes (there are 4 out) - I'm enjoying it! it's fast passed and focused on the cultivation, and the first arc was awesome. fight scenes are great, actors and characterization are my favorite part until now. cgi is mostly great too. give it a try, maybe you will enjoy it
why do I feel the old man is molesting yang yang :(
the intention is to make him look creepy. from your reaction, as most people's, I guess it worked haha pretty sure the actors and director worked it out too, this should not be without the whole team agreement
mo is just the type of enemy I like - they have a clear goal and a complex personality. I really like him and I'm kinda sad he only lasted a few episodes
first episodes should be used for setting up the basis of the rest. I believe it did
but its not a waste '-' first scene, they stated he becomes an immortal in the end. second scene they show he was a village boy that needed to cultivate to help his family. from then on, he gets his first master and his type of cultivation, also his friendships and sets up his personality. how is that not a good set up? I mean, it's fine if you don't like the set-up, but saying it is not necessary is weird

tiers are the levels of cultivation. each level unlocks new "features" - han li talks about it when he goes from 3 to 4, how he can hear better and understand how nature works.
