I've only watched the first 3 episodes (there are 4 out) - I'm enjoying it! it's fast passed and focused on the cultivation, and the first arc was awesome. fight scenes are great, actors and characterization are my favorite part until now. cgi is mostly great too. give it a try, maybe you will enjoy it

but its not a waste '-' first scene, they stated he becomes an immortal in the end. second scene they show he was a village boy that needed to cultivate to help his family. from then on, he gets his first master and his type of cultivation, also his friendships and sets up his personality. how is that not a good set up?
I mean, it's fine if you don't like the set-up, but saying it is not necessary is weird

not sure about how is their ending, but this isn't supposed to be a romance focused story, so I would recommend to not watch expecting their romance
