Its very uncommon for an a-list to act a sequel, unless its a very big hit (like Joy of Life), and Yang Yang himself haven't acted a sequel unless it was already filmed (like Martial Universe). His contract with Tencent has also ended. So, I don't see him coming back. But since Tencent already confirmed a sequel, I guess they'll try a new cast - or at least a new main cast

Well, the anime is being pretty fateful to the novel for now, but the drama had some changes. The Glory team was supposed to win the challenge first to enter the main league. The novel ends with them winning the main league and a worldwide championship being formed, with Ye Xiu being chosen as the captain for China. If a s2 really happen, I think it will cover the worlds.

adding to your comment: yu tu changed. changed a lot. he was always the almighty smart, handsome and good family guy. he had a set plan for his life and this didn't include taking care of a spoiled brat - as he saw jingjing. when he encounters jingjing again, he had some hard times humbling him. he became more down-to-earth and sensible. he could see more than his dream. that's why he could see jingjing properly and fall in love with her.
I have this theory that they would break up anyways if they had been together back then because his ego was too big, jingjing growth and his downfall would for sure hurt their relationship. they met again at the right moment because yu tu was finally open to love properly

this very worries me, cuz there are some part of the novel that are probably considered unethical for a firefighter and a doctor. I just hope they'll keep the essence

I understand it all, but you can hear very clearly he's trying to go deeper but it sounds unnatural most of the time. Well, it is at least better than the first trailer dub, that one was almost unbearable

I'm currently loving it, but I hate the ml dubbing sounding so forced and the modernized songs coming up so randomly and ruining the mood, it reminds me of Martial Universe

Yang Yang + Yang Yang collab would be dope, but I'm scared of the similarity of this plot to Martial Universe - and MU was a disaster in every aspect
