I wonder if this story would've been better served if we were told it from Charlie's perspective. I know they…
I absolutely agree. I got intrigued by 25% of what happened in episode 3. I really need more and I get so bored by the Charlie character. I feel like the writers were aiming to tease us with the mystery but it's at the point they are holding so much I've realised I didn't want to know that badly.
I'm in awe at how this drama has such great ratings. Each one their own but for me this was a HUGE dissapointment,…
thank you, I was questioning when reading the comments if I had watched the same show as everyone else. The second half felt like a very rough draft of a show. Like you see the general plot but it wasn't put together very well.
One of my favourite characters of this series was Nick, because I have had friends who have stayed with someone regardless of the horrible things the person does. And the relief you feel for your friend when they finally manage to break free was exactly what I felt with Nick.
There are many gays like Boston who are able to separate physical sex and emotional feelings aside. For example…
Although this is true I think hookup culture is becoming the less prevalent story in the queer community which I think is great. I think more younger queers within a more accepting society feel freer to bridge the gap between physical sex and emotional connection. I say this because I keep seeing more Heartstopper relationships on my social media from the younger generation.
I don't understand. It can never be both. You can be single, committed, or just have sexual flings. Once you are…
I think there are two reasons Boston's character could be behaving this way, 1. the affect of growing up in a homophobic society, 2. some people are just shitty people and unfaithful.
The value system between queer and straight people does differ to a degree but I think it has more to do with the impact of a discriminatory society on the queer community. Sex (hookup culture specifically) can be explored privately. You did it, then went home and forgot about it. However, having a relationship is 24/7 and opens you up to way more prejudices in society. I think this is what creates a barrier. Queer people have to go through a process of self acceptance but the effect of external and internalised homophobia while growing up results in this barrier becoming embedded.
On the other side of the coin, Boston's character of non-committed is not unique to only the queer community. Many straight people are just as unable to commit to their partners. Potentially a polyamory relationship he should be in, but I have a feeling that's not it as Boston was a dick with no morals (manipulating your friend's boyfriend to sleep with him). Also, polyamory relationships are two way streets and I don't think he would allow Nick to be doing that same.
Would've been very unrealistic for Boston and Nick to end up together. Actually even TopMew and SandRay are. No…
yesss, but since this is BL they generally force them to be together at the end. Also there are some people like Nick who would still stay even ep 12 stuff which is so sad. I was so damn proud of Nick this episode.
Also how the hell did they do that shot of transitioning from the therapist to Sand. That whole scene was so beautifully shot probably my favourite of the series so far.
