For the first 10mins, I wasn't really drawn to this series but watching further on, honestly this is such a great drama. Writing characters with well rounded stories and personalities has been lacking in BL and the way this show captures various experiences (visiting a new country) that are especially unique to BL makes watching this feel enjoyable and fresh. Honestly well done to everyone who was involved!!!!
this drama could have been much better without all the mess from this ep. the comments here are so loooooong with…
I loved this mess. I feel BLs have gotten so boring lately and have the same plot which is a couple getting together smoothly dragged out for 12 episodes. Yes to messy series
It's funny how when this show was at its baby steps but there were clues that it was going to be messy, everyone…
Right!! It's legit become such a boring genre. We are just getting repeat carbon copies of shows with no story but a cute couple to do fan service post airing. That's why I freaking love this series. It's taken the soulmate trope and messed around with it. I want more, yes it has some flaws but the execution is good and entertaining to watch.
I agree with the tears, I skip all of Put's crying scenes, but the rest of this comment seems backwards to me.…
The media you refer to created a caricature of a feminine queer people and then associated them with negative ideas (the latter being more problematic). Now Chot is quite feminine, but is he a caricature? no he's not.
I also don't believe Chot can compare to the trans woman in Filipino or Thai BLs. The big difference is in the portrayal as Chot is a character with substance. Unfortunately these other BLs tend to villainise these characters, make them the butt of the jokes and to some extent give them predatorial behaviours.
Personally I think Chot is ground-breaking in BL. Name the number of feminine queer characters in a BL with a significant role and wasn't villianised. It's a very very small list in the hundreds of BLs made, which is actually a shame. He's also given a general love story which is rare for feminine queer characters. For me Chot and his story represents probably the most authentic queer person in this show.
Till the 10th show I am asking again and again, why is it that especially in Thai BLs there are no tears when…
I agree with the tears, I skip all of Put's crying scenes, but the rest of this comment seems backwards to me. I know several gay men who are as effeminate as Chot and I'm finally glad we are starting to get more variety in the different queer personalities who are actually involved in the plot. Especially since the BL industry generally sticks to a similar type of look, and behaviour while only seeming to use feminine queer characters as the butt of a joke or as villians.
Also Bruce who plays Chot is gay, and is quite feminine in real life which gives me greater confidence in direction he took the character.
Okay maybe not so small but: - reducing the series length - reducing the number of flashbacks that reshow past scenes - introducing something more substantial with the plot (I think the main couple got together too early for 12 episodes of drama). It needs more drama. - the main couple have great chemistry but lack substance. Too many empty romantic stares. It's bland and unrealistic. They need more banter or something between them. - given more clues earlier on about why the parents got divorced. They holding back onto it but I just know the reveal will be disappointing.
Title is great in this - so sexy, and he has subtle expressions. Definitely above average for a BL actor. Suar…
Right, a few things seem quite juvenile to me. A major one is all the animosity surrounding the the divorce, the other is Thian's (Suar) behaviour at times.
Okay excluding creepy uncle scene what was up with the flip flopping between future and present. Gotta be the most disappointing final episode for a BL this year
Overall, this show wasn't bad bad. As usual needed better writing. I think they should of embraced the toxicity more. It definitely should have been more trashy. It just kind of felt like lukewarm water.
The show was kind of vanilla but a good vanilla. Again I wish the plot/story was better but overall the quality of the show was excellent. Force and Book's acting in this was absolutely amazing; a huge improvement from Enchante. The Cher character suits Book really really well and I'm just happy to see actors just nail it.
Does this series get better? I'm on ep 2 and the quality looks great but I'm not really finding the characters or relationships likeable or enjoyable. The workplace is so toxic it's a bit overdone. Pat himself is not likeable at all, but maybe I need to give this series more of a chance.
