oh i do watch it too haha in fact i am chen zheyuan fan 😆😆😆 and i love lusi!!! but i stop at ep6, im gonna wait till more ep are out i think it was cute and quite good show but not enough to keep me invested if you know what i mean.....and maybe actually bc i love sangyan since i read his novel so im not expecting his character in hidden love to be like that so it distract me at first (not in a good way) but now i have accept sangyan was not this cold guy that i imagine when i read his story maybe i just had wrong intepretation all along (my fault for only reading sangyan love story)

but tbh stop thinking much about rating really it never reflect a drama quality...lots of popular drama are just meh to me

yup i saw the chen feiyu fans clarification today and but im not sure about the mzy reason you state, i dont follow her closely 😅 but agreed!! in the end whoever the cast is i just want good actors that also visually matched with the characters

the casting rumour is back to chen feiyu again (which is my first pick since the casting rumour was revealed last year) and the rumoured fl is meng ziyi i love her but i actually love wang churan more (acting wise)

but since hidden love was airing i have been rereading the novel and the description of wen yifan being petite and small indeed doesnt seem to fit wang churan but i love her 😭 i really hope she got the role regardless of the novel description lol im sorry i just need good actor for my favourite novel

he basically has this unbothered, narcisstic, annoying vibes drama sangyan indeed shows him being narcisstic and annoying (in not a bad way both in the novel & drama) but i dont get the unbothered vibes from him bc they make his character seems to be more on comedy side and while i do find him funny in the novel, he has this unbothered cold aura where he makes ppl around him stunned with what he said bc he is very full of himself and unbothered...that's why in ep6 during the drinking scene when sangyan's friends said 'with his temper who would like him' it's precisely bc of his character is like that.

drama sangyan seems more on playful side even with his friends that's why i just treat them as two separate sangyan 😅

i think you should read it first before deciding he suit the role or not, he is doing good job as sangyan in the drama but personally i dont regards him as the sangyan i know in the novel and that's why i personally dont want him, but who knows you might think he suit the role still when you read the it

glad that it wasnt only me feeling this..and it's actually bother me bc i love sangyan a lot (i love drama sangyan too) it's just i dont treat him as my sangyan bc his character is different from novel sangyan...sangyan is narcisstic annoying, grumpy but he is unbothered and not in playful way...i havent read hidden love novel but the scene where sangyan talk all those stuff to jiaxu when he is drunk, im curious was that in the novel or smth drama add? bc i dont think it's smth sangyan would do so anyone who has read hidden love novel, do lmk!

our secret watcher will know this but chen zheyuan is such a phenomenal actor when he cry (i love his eye acting!!!) there is just something so sad and heartwrenching about the way he force himself to not to cry...so far the show hasnt interest me yet and im staying just for the leads (and future angst) but when i see duan jiaxu crying at the end i was interested to know and watch more instead of just mindlessly watching.

it remind me once again why i like his acting, not that im saying he wasnt great in other scenes but that particular scene piqued my interest and personally the ost hasnt done much for me but when it paired to that crying scene of his, it sound so beautiful and i immediately love it eventho i have listened it few times already before. it's crazy how much a scene can impact you to suddenly love a song where you dont particulary find interest in before.

you speak facts!! this is my first drama of her and i can see that she is better than most actress i have watched i cant speak for her other drama but for her first drama i watched, i absolutely love the way she potray the character!!! i just dont get when ppl complain about her acting when she is great in it 😭😭 especially when she cry even tho she cry a lot i could definitely understand why and feel sad for her not many actress make me feel sad when they cry but she did. i love her she did such a splendid job in this role and she is calm but strong soft spoken but firm.

to add, i just finally reach ep4, when sangyan confront the bullies he really felt like the sangyan i know 😆😅 i just wish they dont change his character to a bit more comedic side like you said

yup!! and i too faced those moment. imo she start liking sunwoo and junghwan bc her friends tell her they like her which i can relate i used to have not feelings for that person but if my friends said they like me i will start noticing them and slowly liking them too, some teenage girls are like that and it's normal

yeah i can tell they change his character a bit (which personally not to my liking) nothing against hidden love sangyan drama but reading sangyan first frost and seeing him in drama just felt a bit different and i get a sense that when first frost drama airs they gonna stick to his real character like in novel which for me already create a conflict between this sangyan and first frost sangyan (i know i wasnt supposed to see it as the same thing bc it was not from the same production but i just cant help it)

i think if you read first frost you would want different actor too but that's just my opinion. if i havent read the novel i also would like this sangyan to be the same sangyan in the drama but for now im just treating him as different sangyan bc he seems a bit different from sangyan i know BUT AGAIN i have yet read the hidden love novel so maybe my intepretation of his character might change
