Sweet so far. The friend vibes are strong. The pacing is good. And for a fluff idol rom-com it's nicely done -- all fizz and light, which I enjoy as a palate cleanser. I like that the ML isn't an overused tsundere trope. He's sweet, quiet, shy, and possibly, an introvert. But making an effort to come out of his shell. The FL is clever, bright and no Mary-Sue or Candy in distress.
Sweetly inoffensive so far. Like cotton candy for the brain and the eyes. Our ML has a surprisingly deep voice. And he's either grown taller or bulked up a bit across the shoulders especially when compared to his Falling into Your Smile. He was adorkable in that one, I'd pick him over the ML, and especially the FL, in that one. LOL
True, true! But that had the original writer as the scriptwriter/adaptation lead, from what I remember. So it's in a league of its own. But it was a very satisfying watch. Even one note YY emoted, quite believably too. :D
True enough. But some of them surprise you very pleasantly. I'm watching Dream of Splendour (and it's very good); and I finished You are My Hero (well written adult relationship with people who are competent at their job). I think there are few other in recent past but I can't remember now. 🤷🏽♀️
Whoah Ep 20. That was PHOAR! Well done our leads. Scriptwriter redeemed themselves slightly with that surprisingly enlightened convo about relationship expectations (implicit and otherwise) re what women are expected to give up/become.
ML's father is such an unmitigated waste of space. What a scumbag. Also EP 19 that whole back and forth that's what I mean by adolescent writing by the scriptwriter. Do better by your characters. Indecision, and no communication are such misused plot devices and apparently, the only two this scriptwriter is aware of.
Really enjoying this drama! It's nice to watch a drama that assumes the audience is clever and can follow plot intricacies without spelling things out. The interactions between our leads are delightful. Chen Xiao's eyes continue to be my fave part of his acting! So emotive and expressive. The switch from gentle swoon to grim to grieving. Really fantastic. Crystal Liu is very very good. Great casting in addition to our ML and FL, the secondary characters are really good too. I'm enjoying the sisterhood and dynamics between the women. The ebb and flow of emotions between them is great to see. Anyway, a solid watch and easily my top 5 of 2023 even though it came out last year! LOL. So many dramas so little time.
