Yep. So much of dramas are full of filler crap, and misunderstandings that get dragged out ad nauseam, which is a poor disguise for the fact that there is little to no story. Here we see adults gently learning about each other and figuring things out.

I find it such a rarity in Chinese drama land for an idol-esque contemporary love story to have such normal characters with normal, easily understandable responses and reactions. Refreshing to see people behaving like adults who've been out in the world, have high pressure/high responsibility jobs, friends and family and all the relationships that come with that. This might not possess the high octane energy some might prefer, others may even find it boring, however for me: this is the equivalent of a healing k-drama. Beautifully shot. Surprisingly well-acted. Well written. And with relationship dynamics that don't live in the land of hysteria and histrionics.

Leads that actually communicate. Now that I can get behind.

Agree with what you've said re the how the behaviour is uncomfortably familiar to irl but the scriptwriters also want ships and to leverage the Idol drama soft filter. Not a well balanced tightrope to walk.

The CGI and special fx in this drama pretty awesome. Especially ep 7 like whoah. Very cool. To be honest, the visual extravaganza supersedes the story and character related shenanigans. Overall: good fun & thankfully (so far) doesn't take itself too seriously.

I cannot wait! Lee Se Young!! Is my absolute fave. A brilliant and criminally underrated actor. Sakaguchi Kentaro does some interesting work, undoubtedly a good actor, it'll be great to see how it all plays out. :)

I don't get this fixation with writing a dimwitted, damsel in distress FL! Why? Is it to evoke pity? It makes me want to smack them. Is it to make the ML feel studlier? It doesn't. It would be so nice to see an ML and FL that are evenly matched in smarts or she's smarter rather than this depressing paleolithic Mary Sue damsel in distress crap.
Leads have great cp, and can act. Both a plus. It's a pity the way they are written is pissing me off.

A sweet, undemanding, uncomplicated story. Well acted despite the thin plot. Some intriguing moments/situations nonetheless. I think ep 8 or 9 were my fave. I found the retrospective from Asami-kun's perspective well-timed. To me, it felt organic to the story and not a filler. It was very in keeping with his character: someone who is so vividly observed by everyone is quietly, modestly observant and almost (aggressively) non-threatening.
