Happy New Year, lovers of SAL! I have finished rewatching the entire drama. First time for me to rewatch a drama in its entirety right after having finished it. Still missing the 2 of them, so rewatched The Legend of Shen Li and now Love Game in Eastern Fantasy. I'm convinced both of them can do a xianxia romcom. Best CP in my books!

Now rewatching and am up to ep 21. In the first watch, I had to fast forward ep 19 & 20 a bit cos I couldn't bear the pain of watching what happened. Now I am looking forward to them meeting each other again. I like the arc of the 2nd half more but I hate the editing. Still angry that we were short-changed so much.

I'm sorry haters. No other actress can pull off Mumu except Esther. Yes, there are cute and bubbly actresses with big eyes...whatever. But none are also sassy and sexy with full kissable lips like Esther. They also don't have her dress sense, sorry not sorry.

Haha...he was a bit annoying at first but he was also funny.

I saw a bit...don't like the hairstyle though. LOL. FL doesn't appeal to me either.

Watching him again in The Legend of Shen Li where I first saw him. He's rather funny in that role.

In both her younger days and even in her older days, she was inexperienced in love. If she's a good kisser, it's questionable isn't it?

Current dramas are not catching my interest, so I'm rewatching this again. I really think this show was very well produced, but the editing and excessive cuts did it and us a disservice in the second half.

ML was supposedly adopted but the family split up after the FL turned 10 I think. She took on the mom's surname and the mom repeatedly told her ML and her are not related. So haha...that helps to normalize the relationship.

They have no blood relation.

And they also conveniently cut out Lightning. I can't even see a trace of it in any corner in the latter episodes. :(

I want to laugh at the scene where Jin Zhao and Lin Sui went to the market wearing trench coats! For a moment, I thought there were going for some racing. LOL.

Can I say all their outfits were well put together? Both the ML (garage days) and the FL. Esther pulls off all the outfits she wore so well...yes...even with those big hair clips. Not every actress can carry those looks without coming across as tacky or cheap.

Oh...they also cut out the concern she showed for his body. Yikes.

Hahaha...yes! I always wonder, how can they cry so much and their eyes still look so beautiful in the next scene.

I really like her grown up arc. She definitely has a mind of her own. I love how she was able to bring him to his realization with calm, logic, and a touch of sass. Even in her younger version, I didn't find her thinking childish.

The storyline is good for those of us who enjoyed it. And the combination of the cast, production quality, and OST draws you in. It's not contrived and the depth of emotions is quite raw. But the editing in the 2nd half sucks a bit. The rating isn't high enough. Personally, it should be at least 8.5.

Sigh. What's the commercial reason for ending this at 29? How does adding one more episode affect it?

The longing is real...Best drama in 2025.

This is why I wrote what I wrote. I find all the hate on her so unjustified. And I hate it when they try to bring in other names and suggest they can do a better job. Like...no way.
