Absolutely! I was fully invested in the couples in Choco Milk Shake and that had a reincarnated dog and cat in it. So I think you’re fine lol.

I’d say Kiyoi has more layers than Gav though he’s adorable. I still haven’t been able to see the second season of GB unfortunately. Kiyoi blossomed this season for me and took on the emotional gate keeping of their relationship. I loved seeing him vulnerable. I hope Hira grows more in the movie.

You know I’ve always thought that Kiyoi was the one the directed things. Certainly he’s the one who decides when they’re having sex. Once he gets the go ahead I think Hira probably gives it his all, lol, but Kiyoi has to give him the signal. I don’t think Hira would have initiated sex earlier in the season. I can’t believe I’m sitting here analyzing their sexual dynamic, but I am.

100% agree. It helps that they started with such a great story, but they did everything right with this one. The director ( aside from enlarging Koyama’s part) did a fantastic job following the novel and there were so many subtle touches that just added to the story. To have such a terrific 2nd season and then a movie is such an unexpected treat.

You could go check on them in Japan in April….. I know what you mean though. I have never cared about characters like this. Maybe I got close to it with the couple in To My Star, but not as much. I’m pretty sure I’ll be rewatching both seasons on the regular. I’m currently typing this comment as I rewatch season 2 lol. I may need an intervention.

I loved that Hira went in for more. Maybe the first time since the season one finale that he initiated it.

So who’s your number one favorite character? I thought Kiyoi matured so much this season and really started to understand Hira. I cannot wait to see the movie and how they continue to grow and change.

I totally agree Tar has “it” too. He totally gives me Jimmy vibes in a good way. I can’t figure out how Bom got the part tbh. He’s 27 and it’s first acting role! Just a bad pick for the role.

I love how we all have different takes on these shows. I really like 7 days too, even though their hairstyles were awful! EY was the top of my list, but it’s too sad to rewatch. So given how great this season of MBM, it’s at the top of my list for all BL’s. I just can’t get enough of them and their imperfect love.

Yeah it is definitely a production line. I still watch some of them, but I’ve gotten pickier. I have to really like the MC or the story. Some are a guilty pleasure to be sure and some are funny. Or I have to be desperate, lol. But JBL’s are my favorites and some Korean BL’s as well. I’m curious, did you watch 180 degree of longitude between us? It’s Thai. I both loved and hated that one.

I’m going to watch the second season again so I’ll keep an ear out for it. It seems very out of character for Hira.

Even Boss’s hotness couldn’t save that scene and Noeul is much better at comedy. And Kit was a fool from day one.

Yeah he seems like a darling. Hope it’s a happy ending.

That was a huge plot weakness for me too. Their dynamic was fear and intimidation and I didn’t see where it changed. Their lack of chemistry for me made it hard to believe as well. That’s why I’d like to see Tar with another actor because he has a lot of charisma and could do more with a better role and partner.

Oh, I just meant the acting. Kit is possibly the dumbest bad guy to Grace a BL screen.

I’m right there with you. In fact I’m going to rewatch the entire 2nd season right now, lol.

How in the world are MBM 2 and Never Let Me Go both 8.2??? This is ridiculous. MBM is clearly superior from the acting, writing and direction to the production value. I liked NLMG because I liked the actors, but it is very flawed. I’d say this season of MBM is pretty perfect.

That’s funny, because I thought the LITA kidnap scenes were pretty bad and overdone. I thought this one was better handled. Not great, but better than LITA.
