Fugui's death stayed unnecessary, he could've survived had he and Yunjiao gotten on that horse instead of talking…
The writer wanted a sad tear jerking scene at the door to his mansion room that really wasn't necessary. Unspoken was that she really was the Crown Princess with more right to the throne than the Emperor. And perhaps show that she can be happy without Mutou and isn't dependent on him for her happiness. And perhaps she is mostly secure in the knowledge that when he is ready and has fixed his problems, that he will come to her. Clumsily written, though.
It can’t be just me that felt like yes the 2021ML got the 2022ML’s memories but he was still polar opposite…
What problems you point out about the combined 2021/2022 ML is true, but he is like that because he is slowly integrating one with the other. The best sign that the old 2022 is taking over is the softness in his voice. speaking to her. Listen to it in the fireworks scene. And 2021/2022 is still not confidant that he can win her heart. Remember she is a one man forever love person. 2022 ML also hadn't been rejected so often so 2021/2022 proceeds with caution. That's my thoughts. This is still one of my favorite cdrama rom/coms.
FL can be really stupid, but at the same time ML doesn’t tell her anything. I agree with a comment I saw, SFL…
She will turn out to be the missing Princess. In ep. 7, when the Mu parents are killed by the Duke of Defender, his daughter, shows up. He takes her out and orders everyone else killed. Mutou is hiding in the cabinet and sees everything. She is looking back and may have seen Mutou watching from inside the cabinet. The connection between her singing to him as a child may be that after the killing of his family, he suffered Night Terrors as a young boy. That is why in ep. 10, when Murong Cang denied that he was Mutou, she specifically listed Night Terrors as why he was Mutou. Part of the problem with the FL is that the story has a love and resentment between the two. The writers chose to have the Chief Eunuch either testing her love or with hiding his true end game. He says it in ep. 9, 6:20. and it really is to help the young Emperor to establish a society that provides peace and prosperity. He then says he believes that the good days won't be long. The Duke of Defender happens to be a major threat to the young Emperor, so it's a two for one. Because he is supposed to be a eunuch, and is plotting to take down the enemies of the Emperor, he has to be guarded and deny his feelings. So they have the FL thinking that he is lying. They play her alternating between very perceptive and too naive. After falling for the letter, she then knows that he is Mutou from seeing the red cloth wrapped around his index finger, and he knows that she knows, but she only knows the immediate game, while he is playing the long game.
I skipped much to the end but from what I can see, the CP are pretty much apart until the last moment. The 2ML who is a best friend of the two from college years kinda guilts the FL to stay with him which leaves the ML looking from the outside. Before that the FL takes up with a sugar daddy and from what I've read, the FL makes a poor decision to be drunk alone with a scumbag. I guess this is one that I'll get around to finish one day.
Is there any love interest between Xu Ruo Han and Wang Qiang's characters?
They keep glancing at each other. And in ep. 16, they have a talk near the river. Romance is not to the fore front, but if you look, you can see interest.
nooo, I dont want them paired up, I can see it happening but please nooooo
Ep. 13. Sang is one of his Father's students. The ones that took away his Father's time. And she snapped a photo of the framed picture of Lei Ming with his Father and kept looking at him when he entered the room to get some stuff. Ms Sang is the only student who visits the Father now that he is stricken with Alzheimers. It may be significant that we know nothing about her Father or Mother. Especially about her Father.
So... sang xia casually interupting lei ming and her friend's date. Like I love how unserious that scene was..…
I think the Sang's bestie has no chance with Lei Ming. She was using his being a graduate of Qinbei to rub salt in rival Song Jie who tormented her for years.
i love the lack of romance in these kinds of dramas tbh bc it’s so much more easier to relate, all the boys…
The romance is shown by glances and sometimes by proximity or interaction. Pairs walk next to each other or sit next to each other outside the classroom. The interest is there but it isn't the focus. Even Ms Sang and Li Ming wouldn't be so emotionally at odds with each other if there was no spark between them. At the beginning of ep. 13, at his Father's apartment, she snaps a picture of the photo of Lie Ming and his Father. Sang's reaction when she came upon the female teachers were sitting around Lei Ming.
OK, it felt good to see the entire Class 11 back up Li Ran and embarrass that rich bully, but you just know he's…
The rich kid has his own demons and it's similar to Lei Ming in that he craves approval from his Father. But he has grown up very twisted. Watched Ep. 11 unsubbed. I thought that in the long run, it would have been better to find a way to connect with him. Couldn't understand what was being said, but his parents may divorce.
This is my first Chinese drama but are a lot of Chinese dramas slow paced? I'm halfway through episode 4 and the…
I don't know what piqued your interest, but a similar teacher helping a bunch of students is The Heart of Genius (2022). At least for the first 9 episodes.
I have sensed Japanese dorama vibe once they introduced Principal Lou. My guess was Great Teacher Onizuka. Happily…
I feel that this is more gritty than GTO.. I remember from seeing bits of GTO here in Tokyo that it had more a comedic and over the top feeling. Haven't seen any of DZ. I enjoy this show so much that I've watched the last two episodes un-subbed and still enjoyed it.
