Directed at my comment? The King says it was his plan. Boon-Young is accepted. The King has a spy in Rui's camp, telling him of his and the Qing's intentions. Principal Director Park is thwarted as Mung-woo did not commit treason. Mong-woo makes good on the promise to protect the Grand Prince and the Princess. The real Princess lives with someone like Kim Fe-Nam, that the King has been try to accept a position with the government. Mong-woo plan for revenge proceeds, as misbegotten as it is. Lots of speculation here. I've been massively wrong before, but it's fun speculating.

Yep, it boils down to drama. Discovery mid way means war, though.

Two explanations. 1. They only know the partial picture. 2. The anguish that Mong-woo has between heart and mind makes good drama. And the King has to sometimes be a cypher for the same reason. I can't see a quick end game as the Grand Prince is too young without a strong protector. Perhaps Kim Jae-Nam will take that role allowing the King to be dethroned. Mong-woo and Chu have their revenge. The ex-king and Mong-woo can be together.

Halfway there, any exposure and the Qing escort would become aware of the deception. Here it is still an internal affair, I would guess.

Boon-young's advantage is that being a slave in Qing means that she can understand the language. The Princess cannot. I would not be surprised if she were not allowed to continue to Qing.

Her reactions are meant to move the audience and her eyes do the same to make connections. If she were stone faced, we'd be less moved. At least that is how I think.

Chu Dai-Ha and Mong-woo. The problem is that the Court intrigue is way above their pay grade. They only see a small part of what happened or is happening. That is why they target the king rather than the Dowager and Principal Director Park.

2. Her bestie falls for the ML and her best friend who asks her to pretend to be his girl tries to get her.

The subs used the past tense and glimmer. I feared that they talked about the old Herbal Fortress. There was no sign of the herb spirits at the end. But I like your interpretation.

Are the herbal spirits still around at the end? Fairy Yuhu tells A Jiu at Bai's grave that "This time the herbal fortress had a glimmer of life." Is she talking about the previous before it was destroyed and all were killed or has it been established since then?
