LCJ used the Butterfly method to make her a slave and then took her blood. He hoped that there was some compatibility with him because the Princess had the kirin blood. That blood could save people not related by blood. The mention of the Mokui tree blossoming soon implies that it killed him while being a slave after he saved the Princess. So BZ was a great aunt. The birth of the girl was a one time opportunity to draw the cursed blood from the mother to the child. A relative was necessary to transfer the blood. But LCF could do it as he was the Father. So both Mother and child were saved and LCF ended up with the blood. Then he would use the Peony soup with seven days of pain to come back. If he came back, then the process was successful.

Never has something been awaited so impatiently but with so much dread.

The butterfly method was to infect the Princess to make her a YLBL to save her life. The Marquis used himself to bring her back to normal. They haven't said why the FL was a YLBL from an early age. Possibly 22 will clarify things.

Perhaps the producers want to delay the last few eng sub episodes to see if they can get more people paying to see it, or a bump in traffic. There was no clear pattern in the releasing of eng sub episodes from 16. Usually the non paying site will have the same release times. Some will say ep 21 like here but when you watch it, it’s not the right episode.

No, it is different. Just an error in posting. The beginning will say ep. 20, so it's the wrong ep.

Satisfied with him and his chemistry with the FL is ionic.

If you watch ep. 22, after Qianyue wakes up and gets dressed, her husband and daughter appear out of thin air. That bothered me a lot. That makes what follows a dream sequence. And at the end of the episode, a;though the husband puts his sword in its scabbard like the beginning of ep. 1, her reaction is different. There is a look of sadness in her face before she starts to smile. But they don't show her with her husband. If you believe in HE, then the smile is for her husband who is out of sight. If you over think it like I do and are pessimistic, she is thinking/missing of her husband but smiles at the end as it is in her nature.
The end of ep. 21, shows the bell ringing, but we don't see who it is. Same HE or BE interpretation.
I wish the director had let us have an unequivocal HE. I have to believe in the writer's interpretation of the ending.
