The theme of the drama is for a female to reach her full potential as best as she can. If she were to return his love in equal intensity, then it would probably detract from her goal of becoming a general again and to reclaim her legacy. Eleanor Lee My Love, Enlighten Me (2022) modern drama. My first exposure to her. I liked the drama and her character. Fake Princess (2022) A light comedy. I remember it because there is a marriage ceremony that is heart breaking.

Zhuge Kongyun was written and dressed that way to provide a contrast with Beiming, to provide a Javert character and sometimes a comedic foil for Beiming and Xueman. That the writers evolved him to be a partner was nice. It really isn't his story, but would have been nice if he had tangled wits with Director Blue Cat. A romantic pair two steps ahead of each other. The ego clashes. The thoughtfulness.

Could be worse. There are toxic MLs that push the FLs around. But it is to set up his fall from grace.
