I wonder if her background is as simple as we think.
There must be a connection between Master Qin's fascination with a young girl and Luo Shu. He must be behind sending her to Mengke House to become refined. Was she to be a pawn to be married off to a crown prince?
Ep. 23 The guy who recognizes Luo Shu as Yulan at the end is Master Qin. He came out of Qin Grain Shop to pick up the little girl. He also sent Mr. Li to invite her to spend New Years with him after she walked out of Mengke House. He is probably why Miaocui warned Luo Shu not to return to Taiyuan. In ep. 10, he is probably the boy with the young Luo Sho. First she grabs his hand but the next scene has him pushing her hand away. There seems to be a couple of years between the two scenes. This was the flashback when she was in the river and sinking. I suspect that Mr. Qin was the person behind the old man that tried to buy Jin Nans virginity. And he might be behind Eunuch Zhang's search for a particular woman as revealed at the mine. If so, he has been obsessed for quite a while and has powerful backers.
She came from ordinary background. As an orphan, she was made a slave into a rich family. Could she have been sold to Mengke House because of the guy she met at the end of. ep. 23? To split them apart? He didn't look at her as a past crush, though. That locket with the sliding opening suggest a cage. He gives off very bad vibes with the little girl. As it stands, she won't choose to marry into Qi's Family. His older brother is also creepy. But his servants are like sisters.
The immature main lead tag is keeping me from this drama... is he that bad?
Ep. 23. Watch how his female servants treat him. One can gain an insight into his character by how he treats his servants. They love him and don't fear him. He, more than any other character, shows the most growth.
The guy who took in the little girl was creepy as heck. He knows Luo Shu as Yulan. And she recognized him. Did they know each other from her first adopted family? The one that sold her off? His servant didn't look at them nicely either.
You can tell a character by how he treats those under him. When he arrived home and the women servants offered tea, and Lian Shu asked for tea also, he ordered three. The women servants love him and are not afraid. The drinking party looked like between friends.
Why they decided to make the ML the court jester is beyond me. I like slight comedy in my historical dramas but…
How far have you watched? He is quick at observing and reading the room. Luo will pose something and he will come up with a solution. He is less silly from ep. 15 on.
Ep. 18 will change your mind. And ep. 20 will change your mind about the other. There is a reason why Han stood…
I can see what you are saying and feeling. The boat argument in ep. 20. That argument started when Qi compared his karmic relationship with her and with Han. From his point of view, Han made a promise to protect her but didn't when Luo was being humiliated on stage. And that was a critical failing. Which caused her to break up with Han. Later we know that Ms Liu parlayed securing Luo's Manumission papers with having Luo leave the yamen and Han stepping back. The ending of ep. 20 suggests that Liu Wan will allow Luo to stay with the yamen and that she will either stay with her cousin or move in with the yamen. i think that they will have a guarded sistership. Han failed a crucial integrity test in not breaking the engagement with Liu Wan at the first meeting. He failed again when Liu Wan was bribing 'Jin Nang." He took her away when he should have said that he was breaking the engagement. He failed a third time by not allowing Luo to decide for herself if she would choose love or freedom. He wrote a letter, but dithered and broke two hearts. I can accept either pairing. Just my two cents worth.
I understand being Guest Role, but did Zao Hua need to die????by the way I still think Yang Zhi Wen is Cross Eyedif…
Her death spurred Han and Luo to become one. Tending Zao Hua's corpse, Chen told Han that if you have someone you love, you shouldn't let her go. They hinted at a kiss during their date in ep. 17.
I didn't watch yet but I have read comment from everyone. Look like ''love triangle'' ? My feeling is look like…
At ep. 20 and the triangle is not painful anymore. You can root for both. Be interesting to see who, if either, will win her hand. Both have in their own way won her heart.
Her prospects are truly bad. There is a man-child who is far beyond her station- realistically she could barely…
Ep. 18 will change your mind. And ep. 20 will change your mind about the other. There is a reason why Han stood silent at the end of ep. 17. Running neck and neck. Any woman would be lucky to to be in the hearts of either.
She is not. She chose one and keeps her distance from the other. The ML entertains hopes in vain at this point.
The Magistrate won't dump her but she may part with him to save his future. Qi is the person who can fulfill her dreams of freely traveling the world. He won't be tied down by his job and can sacrifice his wishes for her happiness. Anything else of her wishes, is gravy.
