ok now im intrigued cuz BaiLu is my absolute favourite and I've always thought her as possibly one of the best…
i think shes more idol/superstar/celeb. i wouldnt call her a good actress. shes the absolute same in every drama for me (perhaps forever and ever was a tad different but still more or less similar). i like watching her - but i cant say i have any notice of any acting skills on her behalf. shes not unable on screen - but i feel "actress" is too heavy a word to describe bai lu. entertainer/celeb - sure. she has no acting aura. the FL in this show is an actual actress

Im planning on starting this but i just want to know if xu shu yi is in love with the male lead? If so does she…
shes someone he kinda sorta liked (only person who was nice to him and he liked that)..and shes more of a "be nice to everyone" kinda gal who needs those ambiguous relationships to stay in the limelight without crossing the line though (to keep her reputation for publicity reasons). so it stays quasi ambiguous and she doesn't come between them (except make the FL feel awkward and a bit jealous. and the ML doesnt believe her flimsiness so he kinda stands up for her when the FL tries to tell him about her behavior)

Marcus Chang is a little stiff (must be all those muscles, lol). He looks insanely good in this show, so I guess…
i agree. he matched the character at first but then it kinda stayed stiff. later i watched his other shows and figured out that weird stiff acting he did in show at the beginning was probably his best acting ever 🀣. but hes hot, so we forgive him 😁

Title Always Home
such an awesome heartfelt drama. the chemisty between the main leads is one of the BEST ive seen (especially during their high school years). i really hope these two get blown away with offers after this show. such charismatic actors. ML has such a killer onscreen presence. hes beyond charming. FL is so unique and has her own charm running for miles.
Secondary actors/characters were ok - nothing exceptional. not sure why everyone is so obsessed with qiqis behavior tbh. comments make it seem like she has more impact than she does. her relationship with 2ML was honestly so so boring and bland - i didnt care where it went. 2ML had a wonderful character within the drama - but overall not nowhere near in line with our mains. he just added to their awesome friendship - nothing beyond that. as a stand alone i found his arcs boring

Unfortunately, episode 17-23 felt like it was written/directed by someone else. it literally failed the show to have these unnecessary and stupid arcs. really ruined the seamless progression of the first half. not sure why directors do this...waste our time with useless arcs that dont even fit our characters/show pacing?! the characters became annoying as fuck tbh. i understood his battle (but the directors failed to actually flesh it out for us and instead focused on stupid scenes. it would have done better if we got to see his hesitation reasoning/inner thoughts). FL became weird - ie not really in line with her character. why was she mad during uni was beyond me. it made no sense. they didnt even show us why she had any reason to be mad - she kept insisting there was (ie he didnt communicate much during summer so she felt left behind) - but it was glossed over....so as audiences we didnt feel anything and just saw her stupidly lash out. that arc alone made everything else drag out.

i definitely recommend watching this. just lower your expectations/anticipation from episodes 17-22/23 (it bogged itself down in boring cliches and typical romcom plots)

its hard to start (and push thru) this drama cuz esther is literally an idiot in this who makes you question why the ML hasnt lost his shit yet and told her to "fuck off" in the rudest manner πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈ. will power through cuz i love both actors. esther in this one is peak childish nuisance unfortunately. (in the beginning at least. hope it gets better)

also tropes like "victimizing yourself cuz someone doesnt return your love" arent very convincing. hard to root for a main character whose premise of revenge is this annoying pushy trope. you really want him to run away from her....and far...and fast

upon rewatch - i think the biggest issue with this show is the FL "actress" cannot act. not even a bit. shes forcing all these reactions out of herself with all her might and its just looks so out of place. not one of her reactions/movements/mimics make any sense whatsoever. shes just all over the place all at once.
it would have been a way more charming show with literally any other real (even half baked but real) actress i reckon

Since when does older have to mean mature though. Plus she's still in her twenties it's not as if if it's a proper…
i never said "mature". im not foreign to the concept of maturity - there are 18yr olds who can be more mature than 40yr olds sometimes. what i said was she was too childish for her age sometimes - it was unrealistic. nor did it have any lolita effect if thats what they were trying to go for with her in those moments. (have never met people in their 20s like that - certain scenes had her behaving like a teenager/toddler).

This show was weird umm....

The Good
● Their office seemed to be located in a nice building
● There were some nice trees in some backgrounds

The Bad
● Fl was borderline mentally challenged. she was so decisively stupid she actually deserved every crappy situation she was in.
● The story and director never really make her character clear - what is she - why is she this stupid - why does she comprehend the world like a 5 year old?
● FL has ZERO character development. she stays stupid and ML has to adjust to her level
● At one point FL EATS OUT OF HER PLATE LIKE A DOG - ie no hands..just stuffs her face into the plate! what in the fuck was that was beyond me
● Bai Lu played her character with a "satirical village idiot" twist to it, which came fully stocked with; dwadling, cackling, chewing with her mouth open so much that the sound became a side character, and making mind boggling 1950s silent slapstick comedy faces
● 2ML was in your face for most of the show, and he was slimeball extreme with the shit he pulled and he was just there ALL THE TIME, removing any chemistry and progression between our leads. instead we just see their dry office interactions and petty bickering (and very stupid misunderstandings) that reduces a perfectly normal CEO to a child cuz the story really needs that simpage - meanwhile we have whole ass interactions of 2ML outside the office constantly. and then were subjected to his own personal love story thereafter. it was annoying
● show focused A LOT of time on everyone else, all kinds of stories, but never our main CP. in fact even their time was mostly consumed with other people or with other people present. any reliance on each other was shown to us VIA other people telling us that. it was annoying cuz outside of their romance NOTHING else was interesting, adding any value, or having relevance to what this story is about. the business portion was valueless air cuz it had no actual substance, and the writer has clearly never been inside an office in any of the relevant fields
● Everyone who is an absolute dick in this story NEVER gets called out. ever. 2ML pulls an awful trick on his supposed best friend (hes actually done a lot of questionable slimey stuff) and never gets shit for it. the only person who suffers endlessly is ML.
● ML should have fired FL, her posse, and his best friend. the amount of times they utterly breached acceptable office behavior and speech is astounding. especially FL. they all should go look for work elsewhere, and not waste this mans money and time. frankly he was even dumber for putting up with it all
● All side characters were generally not very nice people and with very unrealistic situations/behaviors, and had very little mental capacity. except maybe the chick who had a one sided crush on ML.

I have no clue what the writers were thinking, or what bai lu was thinking. this is so second hand embarrassing for her as an actress. her choices of portrayal were frankly shocking. ML was ok. his character was the only one that made any sense in the beginning, towards the end with some of the miscommunication he was annoying. 2ML is a good actor but he played a complete slimeball with mental disabilities and whos office behaviour made him look like he escaped from daycare.

cute story. i was at first taken aback by the FL but she grew on me. and i loved her character growth. yea ok she kept choosing him, but im ok with that - no clue why everyones upset with that. thats the story - this girl just wants to do that. not sure why everyone needs a replica of "independent" girl in every show. we can also have this clingy type of girl whos choices revolve around this boy she clung onto. it also made sense why she did that given her personality - and they touched on this on the entire story - the whole theme was her picking him over herself - so not sure why all the complaints in the comments. i think this actress did a wonderful job with her

sure a lot of things were irritating and frustrating but i feel they fit the characters and script. i enjoyed this show. its a shame FL actress doesnt do more mainstream shows. shes interesting

Title Forever Love
cute story. loved the idea behind their pairing - especially during school. both actors did well - the FL better than the ML (maybe cuz ive seen his recent stuff so he pales here in comparison).
secondary characters were boring (but i find 99% of cdrama secondaries utter snoozefests tbh - except "blossom" where they mattered to the story in every way - all other shows without exception make the most boring and useless secondaries)

hated what they did towards the end of the show - FL made no sense. hated how they dealt with some of the bad people - made no sense either. it also got a little cheesy towards the end.

overall still a very good youth watch for the oddball pairing and FLs endearing aura.

this had a cute premise and i initially liked the leads together - but then it all went down hill into drag territory and lost its chemistry completely (including between the leads) shame, cuz the premise was interesting and the leads were both quite likeable as characters (they dont fall into the usual annoying traits).

ML is married and had non kissing/intimacy agreement + the plot is quite angsty so you might feel a little distracted.…
hence why i said originally that individually they were awesome - it was all there together scenes that didnt sell me - hence the main theme of the story - their love - didnt work for me at all. suffering or not - ive seen enough xianxias to see chemistry even in the most antagonistic and separated leads. i personally only got actors acting awkwardly here during their together scenes; ie no chemistry between them. just line recital

he did very well with bai lu in both their dramas together and that had plenty of angst in the first one with barely any physical intimacy, and im pretty sure the one and only kiss scene in the second one - was done by a stand in - nonetheless they had incredible chemistry (both physical and non) and his refusal to do kissing scenes didnt take away from their wonderful on screen spark. i dont think his refusal to do kissing scenes has anything to do with chemistry. a recent show "always home" had the two mains in high school for half the show but their chemistry was incredible.

here i genuinely felt like both actors in blue whisper were uncomfortable around each other outside the script. they didnt connect with each other. in fact i felt less from dilraba than allen (altho both were disconnected overall)

On My Love, Enlighten Me Mar 6, 2025
i loved this shows premise and cast (especially eleanor) - it had everything going for it - interesting ML ailment and his way of communicating, cool FL that doesnt go overboard and is super level-headed, her journey to discovering herself, a fun conflict between our mains that boils beneath the surface and makes you wonder how on earth theyll solve it, and wonderful chemistry....BUT the shows director thought itd be more fun to focus on 2ML and 2FL mopey faces and boring stories, background of the company and its employees the FL works for, career path of random people, long ass focuses on our mains NOT being able to draw lines with creepy 2nd leads, forgiveness for a very self centered bitch that is mind boggling, 10 second interactions with our leads in the first 12 episodes of the show - followed by rushed through interactions between our mains, and choppy solutions without emotional impact. and later we see tidbits of their initial relationship through very quick flashbacks!!!

i have no idea why the director did this - perhaps hes stupid. shame cuz if it had just followed its core premise, all those stupid other things would not have been necessary and we would have had a very interesting show about two interesting people. im more critical of potentially good shows than shitty ones - hence my tirade. this was shot well, had good tone, etc - so it pissed me off more that it failed to properly deliver such an easy set up

i still recommend watching this. eleanors charm alone is worth it. overall the premise isnt entirely lost, its just botched up and tangled in the directors need to stretch shit for as long as he can, whilst all the unnecessary crap is properly focused on and 2nd leads mopey faces can forever irritate.the hell out of you (they are beyond Bassett hound-like mopey. both bland and annoying - also not fitting to be idols as their looks and demeanor fail.to be any more than sales assistants) - nevertheless i liked the core and loved the couples chemistry.

i cant say i loved the separation tbh. i understand that it made sense but to me, the tonal shift of the story was a little whiplashy. up until that part the show was fun with slight heavy undertones - but in that separation arc - it switched. i personally really didnt like that. again - it made perfect sense - but i genuinely wished it didnt do that. i hated their separation
