beautiful story with much potential but an utter failure in delivery. weird editing/randomly thrown scenes. writers constantly forgetting their own plot in the weirdest way. 2ML that tries to RUN OVER MLs MENTALLY ILL MOTHER but is not even confronted on the matter BY ANYONE (including FL who happily continues to be his friend and APOLOGIZES to him constantly for causing HIM trouble). then said 2ML is cleaned by writers SO FAST...with a typical mopey woe is me sob fest 🤦🏻♀️. cast never brought enough emotion into this show. except the Agent of the ML, everyone is was lackluster. i loved the idea of a heavy story delivered in a light manner with more hope into the message but alas this show was just too meh and never connected you to any of its characters. shame. wouldnt recommend unless you have nothing else to watch. - this show also highlighted to me just how exhausted i am with these pathetic mopey pity fest filled 2MLs. theyre just annoying. and their sobby stories do nothing but waste our time 🤦🏻♀️

i love this drama very much because of its unusual characters and overall feel, and i definitely recommend it BUUUUT i feel like not enough people mention how red flag the FL was throughout the entire show. . she forces her way into a troubled-by-his-past blind mans life through severe harassment (including unwanted wrist grabbing when he doesnt expect it - while hes walking - HES BLIND!!!!), manipulation, coercion, and shamelessness to the nth degree(even tho he REPEATEDLY tells her very directly to leave him alone) and then when she finally gets him, proceeds to throw tantrums (after crossing some serious privacy lines of his and being called out on it)and gets tired of him over ONE bad situation calling him miserable/cold/mean/unbearable (he wasnt - he had one ridiculous outburst which was in line with his personality/psychological issue but the show failed to kinda edit it properly - so it felt very left field) - and then she abandons said man who's genuinely afraid of abandonment...and then throws more tantrums later when he returns and cannot control his emotions too well (not all the time) - but again still acts in line with his given personality. she forced her way into this mans life knowing he is DIFFERENT - her path CANNOT possibly be that of some silly idol show...but somehow she gets surprised when its different and everyone agrees with her 🤦🏻♀️ what...the... . she meanwhile was just an immature entitled ass the entire show. inconsiderate, never saw anything from his perspective (altho she did stick to his decision NOT to see his dad so props to that AT LEAST). she was also a VERY shitty daughter to her dad who had a stroke. who the fuck leaves their father in that state?!?!. she literally goes around abandoning people at all the wrong times causing irreparable damage to herself and the situation! but yes lets please focus on how he wrist grabbed her, was possessive and force kissed her only (again..this is IN LINE with his background - WTF was her excuse for being so flimsy and self centred). 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ also can we stop with the "ML doesnt want to entertain a hyper pushy smug FL so therefore hes cold" trope. this is just sad. a human being doesnt have to be an outward extrovert to be considered good/warm. its annoying logic. !!!if the roles here were reversed you bet your ass this comment section would be a Karen congregation!!

decently charming show. i always fail to click with Shen Yue - i feel she always looks a bit awkward around her MLs - but here i actually liked her. cute one time watch. nothing to over analyze as it was a pretty straight forward and simple watch. dont regret watching it at all. loved ML here

i wanted to like this because the story in theory is fun, the characters are supposed to be pretty cool, and their relationship warm and complimentary - but instead it was like watching paint dry unfortunately. nothing clicked. missing a ton of glue.
on paper this had everything to be decent, but for me personally it fell very flat. the OWYM was only present in the fact that ML goes to uni and she doesnt. FL didnt make a very convincing older FL at all (didnt help that they wrote her a bit childish in some parts in the beginning). for the first half she didnt make a convincing celeb either (to add that celeb + commoner factor a la you are my glory). too many cheesy moments for a romance theme thats supposed to be a wee bit more serious (older woman + young uni guy is not ur typical cheesy topic). too many fillers in between that really were very boring her friend/2FL moping in self pity for the entire show was a waste. useless character with no actual problem except self pity to the extreme that took up waay too much of our screen time and some serious overracting. i usually like xu lu - but here i dunno - wasnt her best tbh. MLs acting kept going thru good and bad which was a bid distracting. 2ML was so cringey and weird that for a change i wished for a better 2ML.
