It is a horror romantic comedy so it blends all those genres. For the horror element they do employ the use of jump scares in couple of scenes. I personally did not find the movie scary.

Was it really just wishful thinking from overzealous fans who decided to spread an August rumor or was there at some point an official communication from Netflix that they were aiming for a August release. If latter, does anyone have a link to that Netflix communication?
