This series is obviously a knock off to Manner of Death. I guess we'll have to wait and see if it's better or worse. Right now, it's hard to tell. But, I do know it will be difficult to do another bait-and-switch like MOD did. We're already hip to the probability that it isn't Dr. Kan. So, I guess the next best suspect is the Director. Hmmm?
I've been reflecting (?) about this post and my conclusion is that I still watched it so, ultimately, it's my…
Not so! Don't beat yourself up. I started watching it, dropped it, and then came back for the final ep. to see if it had improved. It did NOT. IMO, whether anyone watched this series for the tropes and stereotypes, the pretty faces of the MLs, actually liked this series and thought it was good, or just because it was available (something to watch), this series was bad! You said it right the first time. LMFAO!!!
I dropped this series way back. Thank goodness that I did! I watched the latest ep. to see if it had improved any, it did not! I guess I will drop it again and wait to maybe binge it later, maybe. But, this is one of the worst series I've ever watched and that is saying a great deal.
I started the series when it was airing, couldn't get passed the 5th episode, dropped it. Everyone was loving…
I kind of felt somewhat the same way. I, too like the Fang/Tan coupling. However, towards the end, Tan's (Aou) character (along with several of the other characters) was becoming so juvenile and silly that for me it was becoming less funny and more annoying. After all they're supposed to be sophomores/juniors in university, but constantly behaving like elementary school kids. I guess I just wanted to see a little bit more "maturity" amongst all the silliness. I guess I was asking for too much. IDK
Dear Lord, I really want to rate this higher... but what a disappointment was that final episode? I am diving…
Don't hold your breath! IMO, Heart Killers is already showing that it may be a big bust. But, I could be wrong. Unfortunately, I wasn't wrong about the second half of Jack and Joker. It started off strong and ended very very weak.
Interesting ending. I liked the plot twist. Didn't like the redemption arc. And, the choice for the new boss made little to no sense whatsoever. But, it was still a good show. Wondering if some of this was leading up to possible season 2? Hmmm!
You make very valid points. And in this first ep, there was no specific reference of any character being the top or bottom. That may have been an incorrect inference on my part based on this first ep. If so, I stand corrected. If it isn't brought up in future eps., then, IMO, that's a good thing because it would go against stereotypes and tropes. However, casting a particular actor for a particular role can actually affect whether or not the character they play is perceived as a stereotype or as part of a trope. On this we will have to respectfully agree to disagree. But, this has been an good discussion. Thanks!
Good question! Well, for one, the perception that "tops" are always taller the bottoms. Another is that the bottom is always portrayed as a sexual object, while the top is not. Yet another is the brother from the same mother but different father trope. Another is the top is older in age than the bottom, even though in reality First and Khaotung are about the same age and Joong is the youngest of the group. Technically, there are more, but this is a good start. LOL!
Like I said, it would've been nice for the production company to kind of bypass some of this. But, instead they stuck to the Thai traditional BL playbook.
This first ep was entertaining. I just wished this production company would've back off on some the age old tropes and stereotypes. It's 2024 and lgbtq+ marriage is legal in Thailand. Geez!
no need to compare series. All series are different. All fans have different feelings/opinions about series. Majority…
You make valid points. And true, different individuals have different tastes. However, the writing, acting, and plot of the series mentioned are superior to Jack and Joker. But also, those other series mentioned are actually BL "dramas," while Jack and Joker is closer to being a "BL action comedy-drama." So, in that reference, there shouldn't even be a comparison. I mean they're basically two different types of BL series, and BL comedy-dramas or action comedy-dramas tend to be a little less on plot, acting, cinematography, etc. and more in just trying to keep the audience entertained.
Okay. I will be the one who says it. I really like this series. But, this ep. was a total "let down" and not worthy of the other eps. I know it was done to build up to the finale. But again, it was too contrived, silly, and didn't follow the plot established so far. However, I still will watch the finale, Because I want to see how they resolve all of this.
That's ur opinion And people's opinions can't always be true so maybe it's just u
True. But, ancient tradition held that "whoever" holds the ring holds the power. It's not really about who owned it before, but who has it now. I think the writers tried going too deep with the idea.

I'm not sure about what was meant in the novel. But, it's been a long held tradition in ancient Asian empires (and even in today's Japanese Yakuza) that the one who holds the "ring," holds the power. The concept is similar to a King or Queen wearing a crown in the eastern cultures.
Wow! This series is really giving us greatness not seen since Not Me or KinnPorsche! But, how will they tie up all the happenings in just three final eps.? We know Jack and Joker will have to go thru a last final "struggle" before they can be ultimately be happy. But what about the other subplots -- What happens between Arun and Tatoo? What did the fortune cards actually mean? Does Joker and his dad ever reconcile? What about Hope and Save? Does Arun reconcile with his dad (as evil as his is)? Finally, what's up with Nang? I have a feeling she's a vital part of the series finale.
low rating with high popularity why???while the series is pretty good.
Some folks had a problem with the toxicity and non-communication that was evident throughout the series. Yeah, it did have problems in that area. But, the series was more on the light-hearted side, so I think most folks just ignored the disliked parts.
