I loved the first episode with Prapai and Sky. This is one of the only BL's with a more mature depiction of sex…
Hmmm! Could the reason be that Sky felt pressured to have sex from a guy he "thought" was helping him, only to find out all he wanted (at least at that time) was sex? I also read the novel and yes, Sky has a backstory. But, as you said, the series has to stand on its own merit. And right now, this ep. portrays Prapai as a rich, stuck-up, horny a**hole, and you wonder why Sky isn't impressed. Hmmm! I wonder!

Interesting comments. I would agree with much of it. Yes, the hubby/wife stuff is cringy. The forced suppository…
Interesting POV! When I first started reading Mame's work, I originally thought she was trying to communicate the plight of girls and young women in their culture, but using the BL genre to do it (i.e., substituting boys and young men in place of girls and young women). Thereby, the men of their culture would see that rape, sexual violence, and domination of girls and young women were not cool. Then, I read more and more, I began to wonder if she was just a man-hating, $$$$ grubbing sicko...

That’s how I feel. I really don’t know if I can take even 15 more episodes of watching Wife 1 and Wife 2 go…
Well, you might be right on that one... P.S. The Taiwanese and South Koreans, IMO, do much better period dramas.

Remember, this is a "period" drama set in the late 1930's. That could account for the many eps. Also, lgbtq+ rights were non-existent and lgbtq+ people were ostracized, socially and legally.

So.... Nobody else bothered by the attempted r*pe? Just me? Ok... I'll see myself out on this one.
Many of us feel ya. But, some of this MDL crowd don't seem to have a problem with that and justify it by saying, "to each his own." And, unfortunately, they're correct!

Interesting point about the notebook. I'm curious as to why yout think it was Thua? Because you think Thua wanted…
Oh! Those are really good theories. I was kind of thinking along the lines of your #2 theory (in order to stop or slow down Aye). That was until Aye interceded with Thua and his parents and thereby assuring Aye's loyalty.

I'm still convinced that Thua and not Chadok took Ayan's notebook. I'm not sure why, but for me it wasn't a coincidence…
Interesting point about the notebook. I'm curious as to why yout think it was Thua? Because you think Thua wanted to know Aye's reason for being at Suppalo? I'm kind of the opinion it's a little of both the couple and the plot., whereby Akk and Aye are both protagonists and the Suppalo system is the antagonist. Akk is on the inside and Aye is on the outside. It's this relationship to the system that draws them near to each other.

I am reading the novel right now, english translations. And this part is explained more from Prapai's POV. First…
I was the one who coined the "power bottom" because that's the vibe I got from the novel. No, I haven't seen the bts. But, I will. I'm NOT a Mame fan by any means. She very popular and somewhat "talented" (if that's even the right word for her) at what she does. I've stated for years and will continue to state, she does more harm for the lgbtq+ community than good. It's definitely about the $$$ and power for her, and she achieves it. I'm off my soapbox about Mame now. LMFAO!

I can agree with this. I'm not sure you saw it that way. But, in the novel, I got the impression Mame was making Sky out to be a "slut", especially the way he's described in the novel.

You're right! All good points. I also read the novel and came to the same conclusion. However, we can all agree or (agree to disagree) that Sky being "forced" is a matter of perspective, even in the novel. In the ep., Sky appeared scared of the situation he was in and wanted a way out. Is that being "forced?"
I guess it depends. The ep. also made it seem that Sky was allowing Prapai to "take what he wanted" possibly a means to an end. I really don't know. But, once the decision was made, it was game on for Sky.

Still LOL!

Hmmm! Good point! Can't argue there. Oh, but wait! What if Sky said that to just, maybe, get it over with..." LOL Not sure about you, but I've had sex just to get over with and not necessarily really wanting it or even into it right then. LMFAO!!!

Interesting! I'm not sure that (at this point) Sky enjoyed anything, but kind of went along to get out of his situation. He actually states (in this ep.) that Prapai is an "a**hole" and only "wants sex." And, Sky actually tells Prapai "no" and that he doesn't want anything more to do with him. But, obviously Sky will change his mind. LOL! The only question that remains is "when will he change his mind."

Geez! It seems we're back to that same old discussion of whether Sky was forced to have sex with Prapai. Hmm! I guess that would depend on your perception of "forced." Personally, here's my take on it. based on what happened "in this ep."

Was Sky forced to have sex with Prapai? Physically - No Emotionally/Psychologically - Unknown
Was Sky coerced to have sex? Yes, appears so
Did Sky "consent" to sex with Prapai? Yes, appears so
Was Sky's consent willing? Verbally - Yes Emotionally/Psychologically - Unknown
Did Sky want to have sex with Prapai? Unclear/Unknown
Did Sky enjoy having sex with Prapai? Unclear/Unknown
Did Sky have his way with Prapai? Yes, appears so
Did Sky want to have sex with Prapai again? No (at least not in this ep.)

Now, the novel may have things a little differently. But, as far this ep. goes, this is how I saw it. What about the rest of you? LMBO!

The "kink," hahaha was up about (3) weeks ago from someone's facebook account. I'll try to find it again and send it to you.
