Again, some good points, especially the point about the misunderstanding of actions of other cultures. I guess some of us have the misguided presumption that there are some things that "should be" universal, like rape and sexual violence, especially in an area of the world where lbgtq+ rights (as well as some human rights) are still trying to find their foothold.

More power to you Bro! I'm just smh over this mess. This series reeks with stupidity, "tropicity," toxicity and every other "icity" you can think of... LMFAO! But, I'm sure there are many out there that just luv this, I'm just NOT one of them! LOL!

Very good points. But, IMO, the same could be said about current BLs, such as Big Dragon, Kinn/Prosche, and least we not forget. Tharn/Type. KP and TT were extremely popular, had those themes and it appeared that many of the fans could've cared less about the sexual violence, rape, etc. and even promoted it as "normal." Interesting!

I've rewatched the past (4) eps, and there nothing in the eps to indicate any significant time period has passed. In the novel it may be a longer time, but the series eps seem to span only a few days. Unless, your seeing something I don't.

Culture/society notwithstanding, BL stories that center around rape, violence and possible Stockholm syndrome are extremely complex and often taboo. And, I'm not sure that one could have a "good debate" on the subject.

You're wasting your breath. It appears that the more sexually disturbing the BL is, the more folks seem to like it and even call it "good," and defend it by saying it's everyone's "preference." Unfortunately, they're correct. However, as for me, I'm passing it -- I've had enough of the coercive, drunk, possible rape story-lined BLs for this year. Don't get me wrong, I have no problem making the BLs a lot more mature (and even sexier). But, come on! Being mature and sexier doesn't have to always involve sexual coercion, being drugged for sex, rape, or other sexual violence. What's REALLY scary is the number of folks who actually think that kind of behavior is "romantic," "cute," or "good." Wow!

Agreed. That's why it's often very difficult to transition a novel into a series, because of the info that is provided in the characters head in written but has to be shown in the series.
