OK. Now I'm confused. Mild was SA, but not raped? Without getting graphic, what exactly did Knight do to Mild in the novel?

OK. Even if you were to say this series is ok, here's the question I pose. If Mild's brother and many of their friends "believed" that Knight raped his younger brother (we still don't know for sure), WHY THE HELL DIDN'T ANY OF THEM DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!! Worse than that, THEY'RE STILL F*CKING FRIENDS WITH HIM!! WTF! I realize this is just a story -- but it sends ALL the wrong messages. In many ways, this story plot is just as bad or even worse than the rape plot in Tharn/Type.

Let me see. In BLs, we have rapists glamorized, victims falling in love with their rapists, and now friends and family kind of ignoring the rape happened and keeps being friends with the rapist. Wow! Thai BLs (especially Thai BL mangas, novels, etc.) are really pushing the boundaries of kinky, cringy sh*t for entertainment purposes.

Like I said, given the period, unfortunately, that would make sense. However, during that time, France was much more tolerant of lgbtq+ relationships than was Siam (Thailand). Maybe they all move to France. 😊

Has anyone read the novel? If so, how do things turn out in the novel. Because, given the period and attitudes during the period, WWI, how could either couple have a happy ending?

Any type of sexual assault, sexual abuse, sexual exploitation etc. in dramas, especially bls, is not something I think is cool. But, as I said, to each his own.

You don't have to agree with me. Never really been a fan of SA in dramas. But I realize it's in the novel and that it's just fiction and fantasy.

This drama was more than something else! I'm not sure why so many were OK with all the SA, stereotypes and tropes. I guess to each his own! But it was an interesting story. At least it wasn't banned by the Chinese government, like other previous BLs have been.

Interesting analysis. I'm not sure that I agree entirely, but you do make some valid points. I think my issue was that the series did very little to redeem either Sorn or Jun. By way of the writing, Sorn used Jun as nothing more than a sexual object. But Jun naively allowed it. The bad writing coupled with all of the tropes and stereotypes made for a mess of a series, IMO. I guess luke many, folks were watching for the sex scenes and based on the sex scenes Sorn and Jun were given passes. If you took out the sex scenes, what would you have left? Think about it 🤔.
