Well, it was hard for me to believe PEB as a man too. Her tiny frame and her female facial feature are not believable either.
However, she owned that role. She acted like a crown price would act or a King would act. And that overshadowed the cross-dressing thing, making us forget that she was a woman .
That's is what this FL is missing. She dresses like a man but she doesn't act like one.

This drama's "meet-cute" is one of the best, cutest ever.

I'm more critical to K actors/actresses' acting because their acting are mostly great, setting the bar high. I did watch some other dramas of Shin Sae Kyeong and I have to admit that she has limited range of acting.
For cross-dressing, most are unbelievable anyway, like Park Eun Bin in The King's affection. Who would believe it's was a he with her tiny frame and obvious female facial feature?
But her acting was exceptional there. She owned the role.

Most of criticisms, not bashing, are her acting, not cross-dressing. Every cross-dressing Kdrama, the character's look does not look convincing anyway.
Aside from the bot, I don't see any comment bashing the actress.
And this is a comment section, people can voice their opinions, criticisms. And if you see some people have the same opinions, criticisms as constant bashing, then be it.

For a drama that I keep re-watching, I would rate 10. This one I subtract .5 point due to FL's acting.
I would like her to show more emotional ranges. Her limitation is even more prominent when she is next to ML whose acting is top notch.

I don't recall a cross dressing drama that makes us speculating this much about did he or did he not know he is a she 🤣 It's probably because the deception drags out for so long which annoys me as h*ll.
However, at this point I won't say the King see MW as just a friend. He does have feelings, I mean deep feelings for MW regardless of her gender.

It's just me that I find 2ML character, Kim Myung Ha, is really unlikable, annoying me much more than the despicable, sleazy, sneaky Yoo Hyun Bo. Idk whether it's because the story line of the character or the acting or both. For certain love triangle, 2ML gives us 2nd lead syndrome. But this one gives me the opposite. The scene at the end of ep6, c'mon, I would kick him in the n*ts if I were her 🤣.

I would think so that he's actually in love. Well, of course I don't know about the feelings between same sex(assuming the King has not known MW's identity), LOL, but all of his actions, to me it's love. Even his bodyguard noticed it that MW was all in his mind and he was always in a hurry to go meet her as soon as he finished his official work.

We can try to decipher, analyze every episode to convince ourselves that the king knows her identity. But until that reveals, I still persive that the King is in love with a man, nothing is wrong with it.
He's been longing for Mong Woo for 3 years. Now he keeps Mong Woo by his side. His mind is occupied by Mong Woo all day long, regardless of all official duty he has to handle as the King.

Of all the dramas with the similar women's hair/makeup, Min Mi's hair/makeup is one of the best IMO. Can't wait for more posters, material coming out.

Exactly. YBY's 2 costume dramas got distribution licenses after her tax issue surfaced in 2022, one in late 2022 and one last year if I remember correctly.
