That's million dollar question 😁Depends on who you ask. Die hard fans would say yes, antis would say no.I'm…
MDL is an international site where fans are mostly from outside of the US I think. So, comments with broken English are understandable. Just one occasion that I had to laugh so hard when a poster equated his/her idol as a gift from God and a treasure of the world 🤣
Im so lost right now after Legend of Shenli ended. Should i watch this one or Beauty in adversity first?
That's million dollar question 😁 Depends on who you ask. Die hard fans would say yes, antis would say no. I'm Switzerland, probably a little bias toward ML. First time watching drama with this FL. I would say the leads were great, acting and chemistry, IMO, so were supporting cast and the guest star. Love the story, crime investigations that keep you interested. Nice romance, not like steamy kisses or bed scenes, but enough to show the chemistry between the leads. About the other drama, I dropped dead since it bored the mind out of me. So, watch a few episodes, 4 or 5 and decide whether it's worth it to continue.
Too much debate on this board about JJY's acting, distracting us from the story, the characters that made this drama a hit. It's one of a few cdramas that depict brilliantly how forensic evidences work on solving crimes. The most talk about here is the face swap. It's not the actresses' fault. I like both of them. The writer/director shouldn't have let the guest star dominate the screen for 2 episodes. And then when the face swap happened, they should have preserved the main character's personality so that viewers can relate. Other than that, I think the cast acted well.
LXY is one of the few actors who don't allow them to be typecast. He was despicable in L&R, dashing in Love at Night, the ever cool, best looking monk in BOY, and upright but at time like a puppy in love in this drama. He's getting more lead roles last couple of years. Since this drama is doing well, I hope it can propel his status further, getting more lead roles in high profile, high budget dramas.
Taking a life intentionally is never be justified. She did it and she paid the crime. And she had no remorse and would do that again. Re-watched the scene and I'm torn. She begged him to apology. He didn't, instead showing no remorse and saying mean things, insulting her. but these words wouldn't drive her over the edge. However, the last thing he said. He blamed her son for his inconvenience of losing business deals - and that was it. That was the final straw that explained why she did what she did.
These two actually kissed each other. So, I'm happy with it. A real kiss is a kiss, big or small, French kiss or not. I would hate it if it was a dead fish kiss or 2 paralyzed pairs of lips stuck together, which I see too often in C-drama land
Seon Yul's revenge is kind of two folds. On one hand, he actually helps Soo Hyun find out about her husband dirty secret. Her husband and the "other woman" are actually the ones who caused her pain. Yes, rather be in pain finding out the truth than living in lies and deceits. On the other hand, her mother and her brother in law are good people. Taking revenge out on these two would really cause pain to Soo Hyun. I don't really care about the awful mother in law anyway.
With that revelation about the real identity of woman in the pic, I think that's it. It's the point of no return between Soo Hyun and her husband. There's no way in h*ll she can forgive him this time.
Waiting for an eternity for her to reveal her identity to him. It seems the drama tries to make him falling in love with the new her. But what would be the psychological impact on him once he finds out? There was no such thing as therapy in ancient time.
I assume all C-ent actresses are under tremendous pressure to stay thin or else they'll be look and body shaming by the ever toxic fandoms. I watch this drama with my family and every time JJY is onscreen, they keep saying "someone gives that girl a sandwich". I mean I can squeeze her waist with just one hand.
Cage is an Oscar award winning actor, Do NoT compare people on that calibre to fantasy cdramas.. Especially NOT…
Did i compare this with that movie anywhere? I even stated in my op that I did not try to compare between the two since it's not fair. I just pointed out the same concept being used. But instead of preserving her personality, the writer/director chose to change Yang Cai Wei's personality to match Shangguan Zhi. So, chill
I don't know what episode you're at but if it was just a simple face swap, then how did she know that she has…
You have proven it's a face swap right there. She knows all those things because it's still her, Yang Cai Wei in body and soul, but with the face of Shangguan Zhi. The big problem here is, unlike Face/Off, the writer/director changed her personality (It's a big mistake IMO)
She is pretending to be SWZ. If she acts serious anybody will suspicious on her. She even checked her room to…
She didn't know SWZ enough. And even try to pretend, real personality should show, just same detective skills or some same verbal as before won't be enough. It was a face swap. And it was confirmed again in ep 8 when she talked to Jiang. Anyway, people can have different interpretations of a drama. and i respect your opinions.
As someone has mentioned, this drama has the same concept as the old, popular Hollywood movie Face/Off that is still showing from time to time in the US. Not to try to compare this drama to a Hollywood's blockbuster movie as it's unfair. But, there are few things that this drama falls short in the logic of face swap, and so, confuses some viewers IMO. It's face swap (not body or soul swap, just the face). So, first, they should have chosen actresses with similar physic. Second, the most important characteristic trace is personality. Overnight, YCW became bubbly, big contrast to her serious demeanor even if It was still her, just the face different. Unlike in face/off, after the face swap, viewers still could tell right away it's Cage's personality with Travolta's face and via versa.
she does have a main female role . what is with people hate for her?
She may not appear until her character has grown up into teen years, about 10 years into the drama's timeline( if the drama stays true to the story). That's why she's not the main cast I think.
I'm happy Hedi got confirmation he attend to booth ceremony. Why don't Ren Min attend to booth ceremony?
She's still filming her law drama. Also, if the this drama is based exactly like the synopsis, then she won't appear much later when He Xiao He has grown up. That's why it makes sense that she is just a special appearance here.
Alibaba is so adorably clumsy around his crush, really comedic and kind of realistic in a way, a female working among males, some kind crush is going to happen. Anyway, she's like a man among men and she ran away from home on her day off as soon as her parents mentioned marriage, so tough luck, Alibaba, even though you have your own island. Also, I know ratings in MDL are bias and inaccurate, still, the current rating of this drama bothers me to some degree
Don't know what the deal was. Were the leads uncomfortable with each other? I remember SSK in The Bride of Habaek in which there was a hot kissing scene. So, it's not like she can't kiss.
