Oh well, it does not seem end well for them😢 . This is a non-idol drama, and with this setting, I don't expect fluffy romance, but still hope for a happy ending somehow

The brother and his aura, charisma, every time he's onscreen, he commands attention with his cold, calm, in control demeanor, too cold, too calm, and too in control as if nothing could shake or break him.
The only time he really cracked a smile and his face softened was when he first met Min Min when she was introduced as his brother's love interest.
He would be a perfect ML in an espionage drama.

No not yet, just a few clips here and there. This is one of dramas that no material given until aired, I guess

Consider the setting in that turbulent time period, the whole main cast survive would be unlikely. But it's a drama, not a reality, writer can choose to give everybody a happy ending.
In reality, life was not easy for anyone rich or poor. Once the communist government established, rich and powerful families like his family would be punished and their wealth would be confiscated unless they fled to Hongkong or other countries. Communist governments back then were really radical, either Russia or China.

Yeah, I thought since the story is unique, the drama would stay away from typical annoying trope, but it didn't. But it's mild and hope it resolves quickly

Ah, tear jerking, miss opportunity romance these two. His letters couldn't reach her. Once they actually met again, she pushed him away, creating more misunderstanding. Then she waited for him till dark, but he didn't see her. Wish they just talked it out.

The conversation in the car was so sad. Weird, they didn't cry but their dialogue, expressions made me tear up. Such good acting these two.
Still, this drama couldn't get away from some annoying tropes of forbidden love, misunderstanding, pushing you away for your own good.

The scene when she was on the phone with HZ - how could she be able to control her tears like that? With her eyes wide open, full of sadness listening to him and the tears slowly formed, nothing short of extraordinary. Some artists would have to make face, blinking eyes to try to cry, not her

Hope he accepts at least one or more idol dramas this year, costume or modern. He's too young and too good looking to move away from idol dramas which draw in lot more viewers.
After Fox Spirit, he has only two non-idol dramas that I think not many would want to watch.

Half naked GJ is too hot to handle 🤣

Ancient costumes with some modern touches that make the female characters look sexy. Yang Mi is like a seductive Goddess. Together with GJ they make a killer couple

The Luo family is chaotic but lovable. The Dad is the best Dad ever. The Four Institute is full of lovely friendship. So cute they were all happy when Min Min returned. Before she had to choose between a salary or a lounge. Now she has both, a salary and her own lounge.

The boat scene was beautiful. Well, he literally kidnapped her. They finally had some quiet moments, heart to heart talk, just slight, subtle romance yet endearing.
Min Min finally was able to return to work. Dad was not happy but understanding and supportive. She's brave and full of determination. Nothing could stop her. Well done, Min Min.

It was a time period of chaos and lawlessness when someone could just barge into someone's home and shoot people at point blank and get away with it.
So, she joined the police to protect her family. She knew what she got into. Cops get hurt in the line of duty is part of the job. So for the Dad to blame her colleagues for her injury was unfair. But it's part of how parents cope when their kids get hurt I guess, find someone to blame.
Also, how could someone survive after such beating and considering medical treatments of 70, 80 years ago? it's one of few major unrealistic aspects of this show.

Yeah, she annoyed me at first, never like bubbly, cringe female. But she's getting better soon after. I think she would be great help to MCH. Her personality is kind of complement the upright MCH, imo

I know. But it's a drama, so a lot are not believable. It's up to us to be able to tolerate and ignore the unbelievable, imo.
We always have the know-it-all protagonists, know it all, always supper smart, do the right things, say the right things, minimal to no flaw.
And now we have a know-it-all 8 years old supper smart, acts and talks like an adult.

Ep 10 was hard to watch. I know this kind of dramas is brutal, but not that brutal. FL was really brave, big bravo to RM, perfect role, perfect portrayal of a rather delicate, vulnerable, but brave and full of determination character. Whatever direction the story goes, I hope she and ML survive.
