He's a judge and she's lawyer, conflict of interest if he has to handle her case . Right now it's just a family court with simple dometic cases. But if he's promoted to higher court and she's accepted to a big law firm which have high profile cases then it would be a problem.
It was a weird confession, IMO. But the sadness, the way he said it - so endearing. And she, even though she acknowledged and accepted the huddles between them in stride but her eyes crying without tear. Super acting both of them.
Watched the clip on X and it was funny. A bed time reading turned to a case argument about Nezha. The Judge calm demeanor vs. The lawyer sharp tone and the kid just looked at them dumbfounded. Finally we will see GJ in a complete different role. But i have to admit the Judge's look is distracting LOL
Beware, if you only watch 1,2 eps so far, probably best not to read many comments down below. Someone revealed the big plot twist without using spoiler tag. The twist that really gave me the OMG moment.
The King is smart. I hope he didnt buy the lame excuse that treasonous uncle gave about the FL's chilli powder. He knew it was the secret ingredient for the competition, yet he gave away to the Ming chef and hid the rest at his residence.
Grrr, i really want to swipe the smirk off that Envoy. Every time he spoke, i want to shout at him " Shut it, zip it, you're full of sh*t". And the headbutt served him well, so satisfying. Lol, we dont have to see him anymore.
The stealing ingredient plot really put a bad taste in my mouth. The Envoy's chefs were probably some finest chefs of the land and like ancient Michelin star chefs. So, it was out of character for the female chef to use dirty trick to steal FL's ingredient, against all ethic of a great chef. Worst part is she didn't even see anything wrong with it, defiant to the very end.
Some scathing comments about Macarons really perplex me. Nowhere, no one in ep 6 claimed Macaron was Josen food. The envoy was known as having refined palate and has tasted all good food around the world. So, for refreshment, FL said she would serve something he never tasted before. When she presented Macarons to the envoy and the king, she specifically said Macaron was a Western snack. And that what she made was a Josen style Macaron.
What if the envoy enjoys her food so much that he wants her as tribute? Nah, not gonna happen. And that evil and cheater consort Kang, she makes my blood boiled every time she's on screen. The actress really does her role justice.
Yep, I eat pasta, spaghetti just like him, chow down the food, well, not that dramatic way. Who has time to roll up tiny rolls of pasta every bite, unless im in a restaurant with dress code and people eat like they don't want to hurt the food.
The art of cooking and food presentation are masterclass. Hats off to food stylists, consultants, and of course the director who created these stunning scenes. It is what makes this drama more popular, imo. There is another tv show that one main theme is cooking that was praised by critics and was part of the show success, Hannibal. Oh, please don’t mind the fact that Hannibal cooked people, I'm just refering to the art of cooking and food styling, LOL
Too many comments swooning over ML so i dont need to pile on LOL. Now, FL, she's making the role, a chef , which is hard to pull off , believable . Some can argue its camera tricks blah blah. But camera tricks alone wont be enough, imo. Also, her comedic expressions are on point, not too much that can come off as force and cringy, not too little that doesnt make me laugh. I keep rewarching and laughing at the thump up she gave him in ep 4. It lasted only seconds but it makes me rewatch several times. And that is great acting to me, imo
Watched this awhile ago then dropped and now pick up. I have to rewatch from the beginning to refresh my mind. I'm a westerner who thinks age is just a number. And I'm surprised in a good way that more conservative Asia has defied the typical norm about age gap. Having said that, the romance here didnt really work for me. ML is just too baby face that made me feel really uncomfortable that i could not see him and FL as a couple. There are artists who are younger than him and pair with bigger age gap FLs, but they look mature for their ages so the pairings work. Still, the story is sweet so I'll continue watching. The rating should be higher, 8.5 for me
This drama is overloaded with bare chest, abs, arms, muscles, not that im complaining. He's a hot blood sucker vampire alright. This couple reminds me of Edward Cullen and Bella Swan. "Her blood sings to him".
In season 1, it was all about the games. Almost every episode was a gripping, thrilling game. Season 2 & 3 - not so much. Seems like the creators ran out of ideas. There were few good games then toward the end it became repetitive Hunger Game kind of style. Then they added some subplots to drag out. Then they gave too much screentime to the cringy VIPs no one cares about. And the baby? Yes it was supposed to be disturbing, over the top tv show. but it was so wrong in every level IMO. The Hunger Game was disturbing as h*ll, but at least the youngest tribute was 12 years old

He reminds me of the "Grim Eater" Anton Ego in Ratatouille
