Most of the time I find slow motions in Cdramas are annoying and cringe. But SY walking in in a slow motion and the Duke's reaction, the scene is a stroke of genius. Hats off to the director.
The title is FL name. So, RM has a lot of screen times and in every episode. First impression is important and sometime shapes our opinion on the actor/actress. It sounds unfair but it's true for some viewers. So, If some find her acting was not impressed first, second episode then should just drop the drama. Just my opinion.
Something about YN expression when SY asked her if she has feeling for him that makes me re-winding the scene several times. She didn't say anything, just nodded her head shyly and a little embarrassed in her eyes. No need for word but conveying the feelings realistically. And that I call good acting
The kiss left much to be desired. Two paralyzed pairs of lips stuck together. A small kiss with open mouth, too much to ask for? RM, ZWY, you can kiss better than this
Maybe I read too much into SY expression when he told YN "I'm no longer your Third brother". It felt like thousand tons of heavy rocks were lifted off his chest. The guy has been waiting for an eternity to tell her that. 😍
The drama is an alternate universe of the novel. Just have to judge it with what it is on screen. However, YN was too kind to that dirtbag dad when she bid goodbye. She didn't get beaten in the novel but was treated badly after the truth was revealed. Even before that, the relationship between the two was always restrained. So, her goodbye to him in the novel was a polite, ice cold goodbye. She made sure he knew there was no love lost between them.
The rating was not good last few days because the leads were MIA. Their scenes were cut short or deleted. Lots of fans on weibo were not happy. Some of us here voice displease. Some go extra miles writing novel length essay justifying secondary characters' presents. It may be ok with 50, 60 eps. But with limit of 40 eps, these characters and their stories become a drag. I have seen so blatantly in MJTY, TPR. For this drama, only 12 eps to go, too much to cover, too little time.
13 ep is more than enough to cover every damn thing we want only if they abolish the 2nd cp screentime..
Same sentiment shared by Chinese fans of the show. It is what it is unfortunately, dragging out too long. Now we have only 12 eps left but those characters won't go anywhere.

The title is the main character for a reason. Should have changed it to "the rise of somebody else" I think we should add the goose to the cast list also as it is in our face almost every episode.
Some moral experts are so quick of lush shaming YN for flashbacks relationship with LJX. Blaming her for his inappropriate words, actions. Not one criticized LJX. Wasnt he such a pedo to say stuff like that to a 14 years old. Even blamed her for his current obsession, seriously. It reminded me Only for Love drama. The ML scolded FL for dressing too revealing after saving her from thugs. No difference from blaming rap* victims that the way they dress, act initiated the rap*sts
