so the sml was blind when he met the fl? so the fl thinks the sml tried to killed and wonโt tell him that she…
He'll find out eventually, won't mistaken her with anybody else. He's in love with her so he wont harm her. Someone tried to kill her and framed it as sml. Thats why she's scared and didnt want to reveal her real identity
The adaptation had to change a lot to pass censorship like the age of Yi Ning and re-incarnation. But some changes that I don't really like, like it added things that made the villains more despicable than they should be. The intention was to make our blood boiled I guess. Also the relationship between YN and LJX was much deeper in the novel.
Yi Ning almost gave herself away by looking completely petrified why LJX gazing longingly. And LSY, always be there at the right moment, calmly, collectedly rescued his MeiMei. The three of them conveyed their emotions very well. The acting was superb
Yes, that's the big change so far.Total around 5 to one in the novel. Beside ML, There are 2 characters that appear…
Lin Mao, Cheng Lang, ML, SML, and another one when she returned to the Duke's mansion, her real father, not counting the emperor who wanted her to be his concubine when he saw her at his banquet (big mistake the Duke brought her there and introduced her to the emperor)
So I guess I was scammed ๐ No reverse harem๐ฆ
Yes, that's the big change so far. Total around 5 to one in the novel. Beside ML, There are 2 characters that appear now who were supposed into her but weren't. I dont really care about one character since he was kind of not important. But the big disappointment is Cheng Lang. Didnt help that the acting of the actor was so flat.
The novel is female centric, all about Yi Ning. All other characters including SY are revolving around her. So fans of the ML may feel disappointed if the adaptation did stay true to this main theme. I was surprised the story did keep this aspect, at least so far. Still, more eps to go, things can change. Will be a lot more of SY, his rise to power, his power struggle with LJX and above all, his relationship with YN and love triangle between these 3. I love RM. Have watched all of her dramas and loved them all. Got to know ZWY in Fantastic Doctors and I Know I Love You. Really like his acting there. They both are great in this drama.
The scene of the leads in the forest was tricky. It could be easily romantic. But they are still siblings. How could their convey they connections without sexual tension? Well, the leads' acting were amazing, showing how much they cared for each other, deep connection between them without coming off as romancing each other. The music was also not romantic but endearing, such great directing and acting
Don't worry about LSY less screen time or that he's not powerful, quite the opposite. These first eps laid out the back story of the chaotic Lou family and how the leads fit into that environment. LSY didn't care that he was mistreated or looked down on. He is now like a lion in hibernation, waiting for his moments. It will more about him and her later on. As we see, the power struggle between LSY and LJX has just begun. I can't wait to see the story unfolds
Ah, Yi Ning is so beautiful, the woman that you are! My family usually make fun of me watching c-dramas. But now they watch with me because they can't keep their eyes off her ๐ About the plot, the writers turned Yi Ning into a detective ๐คฃ And they added sh*t to the evil concubine character, making her more despicable than she really was in the novel. ๐ About Yi Ning's voice, may be I'm a westerner and don't know the accents or dialects, I don't find her voice annoying or childish like some have complained.
Some complain about ZWY character and outfits here are almost the same as the drama that just ended. I didn't watch that drama. But for me, it's not an issue. If I like the plot, characters I'll watch. Actually he was casted in that drama while this drama was still filming. And that drama started 2 weeks before this drama ended shooting. So, he finished his part for this drama early, then practically ran from this set to another set ......... without changing costume I guess LOL.
The adaptation can't be the exact as the novel. Re-incarnation is one thing, YN's age is another. The story of re-incarnated YN in the novel spanned from 7 to 16 years old. Can't show grown men fancying 10 years old kid, or a 10 years old nephew fancying his adult Aunt. Even when it described how LSY felt when YN touched his hand gave me a chill. I was like, dude, she's a f*ng kid. Anyway, she may not be strong physically, but she was smart, strong personality. Despite all these men and the Luo family despicable characters, she handled all with grace and courage.
And the bashing begins. Ok to criticize plot, characters, acting. We all have different taste. But, attacking actors/actresses, mostly actresses, at personal level is something I have to get used to, both in C-dramas and K-dramas, much worse in C-dramas.
Bruh, the drama has not even aired yet, the wolves are already here waiting to shred it into pieces. Lou Yi Ning, Lou Shen Yuan, may the force be with you.
C-drama adaptations from novels, more often than not, just borrow the framework, characters, then re-write the whole thing, sometimes turn the novel upside down. Common changes I see are turning FM centric to M centric, all about her becomes all about him. One main character is dumbed down and becoming just an accessory to other character, and adding stupid elements that are not in the novel. So, If you have not read the novel, then enjoy/dislike the drama as what it is presented on screen. The novel is popular for a reason. I like it very much, re-reading few times. So I may be in for a disappointment. Anyway, C-dramas are a dud this year for me, I don't expect too much for this one either.
Luo Yi Ning's Mom was the first wife. Luo Shen Yuan was the son of one of the concubines. Yi Ning's Mom was framed…
You don't want me to spoil the whole novel. ๐ Of course, she was treated with respect. She was the only real daughter of the Duke. So she automatically the head of the mansion behind the Duke's Mother. The Duke also had a small son with a maid who die after giving birth. The adopted girl was with lowly status and the Duke adopted her out of sympathy. She was no match to YN so YN didn't really care until she did something bad that almost caused YN lost her reputation. She was dealt with properly. But the real drama was that YN had to face the 2 men of her past life, Lu Jia Xue, the husband and Cheng Lang the nephew who fancied his adult aunt. They could not move on after YN's death. The adaptation may be different though

Actually, it was re-incarnation. She re-incarnated into 7 years old with same name Yi Ning after the old YN drowned in the pond. The Mom's pregnancy was a deep secret. Grandma knew YN was not the real daughter. But, no one seemed to know who the real father was. YN's current family was noble. But her real family's status was much higher. Her life in the Duke mansion was not less drama due to the jealous adopted daughter of the Duke. But she was smart, no pushover.
