Hey there, I read from the site that has all novels that were adapted on screen. Yes, she had to get married early and he agreed to wait. However, he didn't wait long enough, only few months. What bothers me is that it was force intimacy. I don't want to go into explicit details that are really disturbing. By the time she was kidnapped, she was already pregnant, at the age of 14. The r*pe (her ex- husband) is in the extra chapter which was an alternate version of her many lives . Worse that the novel treated it as nothing. I ready many ancient romance novels, all have intimate details. But this one was just so sordid, worse that it gave justification for the men to do such things to their women and the women were ok with that. So f*cked up, IMO
Another star of this drama is the wardrobe. coats, jackets, boots either formal or informal are too cool, especially the two tone leather coat she wore in the kidnap scene is to die for.
Does this series feature much politics and struggles between noble families? I don't want to watch a drama where…
Not really. More power struggles between ML and 2ML. As for romance, there are some separation time lapses in the novel. But I believe the drama does not exactly follow the novel. Turning a female centric novel into a male centric drama is one of the changes, typical C-dramas
Yes, he's a business savvy man. Goes where profit leads. No mixing business and personal matters. Nothing is wrong with that. And a lot of us here agree with that. However, are we missing the point here? The point is - He shouldn't have wooed her. He shouldn't have dated her. He shouldn't have involved with her intimately. It's a big red flag, conflict of interest from the get go. And, it only hurts her much more once she knows his plan because she loves him. Feeling betrayed, used, backstabbed and more
Medical dramas are my jam. So this one and another on-going drama are my favorites of all that are airing now. However, yes always a however LOL. I'm kind of used to how c-dramas, more often than not, paint female characters in a bad light. First, the female villain is over-jealous, too over the top, too unrealistic. As medical student, so she's not stupid, but her actions are like from a low IQ person. She is there just to make viewers' blood boiling. Then the female psychiatrist - She's a Harvard graduate for heaven's sake. Why acting so shameless? In real world, Lou can sue her for sexual harassment. Last, the FL, you can't just dump your boyfriend cold turkey like that. Nothing against the actress, but her acting is just one-dimensional. With her character, I would love to see her show more internal conflicts. And now the romance, well I don't want to talk about the kisses as they are just so bad and so awkward that I feel bad for both of them. Just that Lou always looks at her like she's the only woman in the whole world, but she, well I don't feel much from her.
Why are too many dramas with fake brother in love with fake sister trope these days? To name a few, lost u 4ever, fireworks of my heart, the up coming the rise of ning, and of course this one. Having said that, of all 3 guys in this drama, I like Yang Jian the most, looks rough on the outside but a softie inside. The way he quietly takes care of Zhao Yang just melts my heart.
The look on his face when Jiang Hu blurted out Gao Yi's name was priceless - shock then sad, pain But then it seems the sudden kiss compensated for all that, maybe? Not really, a drunken kiss doesn't count
Episode 11 - after a negotiation broke down, she long left but he was still sitting there staring at the chair - "it's quite ordinary but why is it suddenly different now?" The scene lasted only a minute or so but the unspoken meaning of his action, his few words kept me re-watching it many times. And that I call great screenplay, great directing, and great acting.
Yes itβs definitely a very realistic drama which is the reason I love it. As much as I love the knight in shining…
Exactly. He's a business man and he acted just like one would. Business and feeling shouldn't be mixed. I could see he would help her revive her business down the road but he wouldn't spoon feed her.
So funny the rating is yoyoing between 7.8-8. I look at the episode' rating and did some math for fun. There seems to be 2 dedicated anti fans who are able to beam them up to the future and rate 1 for every un-aired episode.
And here's the rating goes, same old same old. Some stupid, unrealistic, cheesy romance, non-story story dramas that cater to teenage hormone got 9 or 9.1; whereas dramas like this get low rating. If I watch dramas based on MDL rating, I would miss out bunch of great dramas.

She - had the world at her fingertips then all came crashing down. Adding salt to the wound, the people she trusted betrayed her. But she handled it all with grace and as dignity as she could.
He - he might have liked her deep down but he is not acting like her knight in shining armor like other clichΓ© story line I have seen many times before.
