Their first encounter was funny. He got a free burger. Their second encounter, the sexual tension, the amount of flirtation, the chemistry were just insane. If it were an American show, we would say "get a room already". 🤣

More than half way and somehow I just dislike the FL, the way she treated ML. And ML, his endearing look at her, his un-conditional love, his sacrifice for her, made me think she did not deserve him. I hope FL's storyline is getting better.

Well, it's losing its charm a bit IMO. I know it when i found myself losing focus and skipping. Some one-liners are supposed to be funny, but they didn't make me laugh. Nam Soon is a bit too cute - the actress seemed trying so hard that she came across as un-natural. Mainly, the story is becoming boring. I hope it's getting better

No, he’s great.
Yeah, in the drama, his feeling developed gradually until he realized it.
In the novel, her parents knew when she came home at age 13 and they saw the jade bone on her hair. She was clueless until he confessed.
The novel handled it appropriately as he did not confessed until they met again when she was 18. However, the idea of having feeling for girl as young as 8 is still uncomfortable. And believe me, there are chinese novels that are much worse in term of pedophilia.

No, he’s great.
In the novel, they were 9 years of age gap. They first met when she was 8 and he was 17. She became his only disciple until she was 13. They met again when she was 18. Even though he had feeling for her, but he only confessed when she was 18. So nothing inappropriate.
In the drama, they changed story line and reduced the age gap to about 4 years.

IT'S NOT ABOUT PEDOPHILIA! They are both children when they first met, then they are teenagers and during the…
No, not actually pedo since he did not confess until she was older.
In the novel, they were 9 years of age gap. They first met when she was 8 and he was 17. She became his only disciple until she was 13. So he practically raised her. She transitioned into womanhood under his care(made me blushed reading that chapter). So she had to leave and he gave her the jade bone. Even though he had feeling for her, he only confessed when they met again 5 years later when she was 18. So nothing inappropriate. However, the idea of having feeling for girl as young as 8 is still uncomfortable. There are ancient chinese novels that are much worse in term of pedophilia.
In the drama, besides a lot of changes, they changed the timelines of their encounters and when he first had feeling for her and reduced the age gap to 4 years, or else it wouldn't pass censorship.

Episode 1 was a bang for me. After that, I fast forwarded few scenes. The female antagonist was irritating and the male antagonist was unlikeable. Also, even though for this kind of show I should expect illogical plots, but few that bugged me. Other than those, it's a quirky, cleverly crazy, fun show. The comedy is spot on. The cinematography, visual effects are awesome, even rival Marvel TV shows, not to mention the cool OST. I can envision, down the road, FL would be a vigilante helping ML since he's cop.
The downside is waiting a week for a mere 2 episodes

I like it way more than the original already, which given i rated it 6,0 is not that hard but still lmao. I actually…
I really like the original, but kind of annoyed how FL was treated by her parents. For this one, I like the leads from their respective previous dramas. Can't wait. Gonna binge all 3 eps now 😃

Hi everyone, is it worth watching? how is it so far compared to the original? I try to hold off until it's done before watching. But I'm not so sure I can now 😃

When is this going to air or is it another abandoned project?
Don't think so. They just announced and posted materials for the drama last month. I'm not sure it was already filmed or is still filming. We won't see it till next year anyway

good to know about xz's fans. who dares to step on him anyway? LOL. i don't really have c-drama fav as i'm a k-drama fan. If i can name c-drama artists that I like then probably this couple and another one who has been banned.

ok, probably I lack fandom experience as the amount of toxicity is just astronomical. No one seems to be good enough for their fav.
Cheer, you have a good day or night, wherever you are.

so it's your conclusion then. Who are you to decide that she's not suitable to star with traffic actors. Who are you to judge, talk down to others that you don't even know?
I like both leads after this drama. but I found fandoms, antis and for, are just too toxic, too much.

so you repeat exactly what bashers say. and why was it her fault? Her character was worse from the novel to begin with. Wasn't that a typical trait in c-dramas where ML's character is always crafted to perfection and all flaws are dumped to the FL's character. So nothing's new there. Her appearance, well, beauty standard is subjective as I found her beautiful.
If ML was some other not popular artist, no one would give a sh*t imo.

Did i blame xz in my post? No i did not
And now it seemz you blame rm for people dropping the drama and that xz's effort was wasted because of her?
Toxic much?
And whar does her new drama have anything to do with this?
And what her flaws? No one is flawless. and that includes xz

Title The Rise of Ning Spoiler
why ? Is it bad ?
Yes, both her current and previous life husbands. You can read the novel online. I'm not exaggerating. Google translate may be a bit weird, but just obvious.
It made me think it's a culture thing? husband can do anything to the wife? the novel treated this as nothing big deal.
More disgusted was that she was a child. She was 14 when she married and by the time she was 16, she already had a child and carried another.
