did you try the other xz dramas that are already out?
I did actually. Of all, I dropped TU and DC. It was weird that he was not memorable to me until this drama. Then I went back and re-watched TU all the way without skipping 😁 Not sure I want to watch WDB as it's another piece of propaganda machine for the government

I dropped this and wrote about it because people who are considering whether to watch this (or any drama) have…
Wow, only few comments in MDL and you attack the whole country? seriously?

Still few more weeks before summer ends and there’s no currently aired c-drama/k-drama that keeps me interestedšŸ˜’ . I’m so bored that I keep re-watching this drama and reading comments here.
It’s fun and entertaining with these colorful comments. We have it all, from constructive criticisms to zodiac reader to quoting Shakespeare and to something else in between🤣 .

I finally finished TU. Have mixed feeling though, but I'll keep it to myself.
Now I understand why die hard fans have problem moving on and accept XZ with other leads. TU has become a classic. Wei Wu Xian and Lan Wang Ji were immortalized and well deserved so, but these fans have to move on at some point.

According to Tencent, tragic endings make for much more memorable dramas. Look at Shakespeare, he only wrote stories…
Shakespeare would roll over in his grave if he read your comment.

Ok. follow up with my first comment. I'm halfway through The Untamed. Proud of me? 🤣
Don't mind the visual effect since it's a few years old drama. Two gorgeous leading men in a same-sex love story were sure a recipe for success. It couldn't be steamy as "Brokeback Mountain" but enough with silent gestures, and feelings between them

so what everyone think of this drama so far ? I’m on episode 2 and it’s just dry to me šŸ˜’
If the first 2 were not impressed then I would skip it if it were me.
It's a typical c-drama with almost perfect ML, the type that only appears in your wildest dream. He has some flaws too, but he's too beautiful, too perfect to criticize. On the other hand, a flawed FL that opens to widest criticism.
So you would see two different answers here. Most are in favor of the drama. Others are critical, dislike one of the leads and the plot with a passion. Some of these critics dropped the drama. Some torture themselves to continue on and then shred the character(s) and the plot into pieces.

Another important aspect that makes this drama standout is the outstanding original score. It makes the climax scenes more climatic, resonates deeply into viewers' emotion. Hats off to the composers and the orchestra.

Ok. After re-watching many times the last ep. I change my mind about the ending for good.
I took SY's word literally, unless it lost in translation, "whenever Snow Rosa blooms, that means I'm here to visit you" - Since Snow Rosa is the symbol of their love, it was all where it began for them, he told her whenever Snow Rosa blooms, just think as it is him coming back seeing her.
There was no elusion. Elusions are in dreams, not in broad daylight. It was him in the flesh coming back to life to fulfill his promise to her.

No, It was obvious he wasn't. Don't want to spoil it. Just watch and you know what I mean
Yep. I think since he was previously a Priest, it's kind of distasteful to explicitly showing it. That is one of small, but meaningful details of this drama that makes it special

Title The Longest Promise Spoiler
It's Friday night in the US. After a night out, reluctantly continued to finish up the last eps in NF. Cried a river again.
The hero and heroine, together they fought to the end to save the world. But at what cost?
One perished. One was left behind after losing everyone she loves, becomes alone, lonely, loner waiting by the tree the rest of her life for the Snow Rosa to bloom. Sucks to be her.

Hey, XZ fans, count me in as another fan of him, along with RM. TLP is the only one drama of him that I finished without skipping and becomes one of my favorite dramas.
The Untamed - dropped - I was like what was all the fuss about?
Douluo Continent - dropped - couldn't keep me interested.
The oath of love - finished with a lot of skipping mainly because of FL character.
I may come back and re-watch The Untamed since it has to be something wrong with me for not liking it 🤣

I am in episode 38 and she stays the same as you described... it's been difficult getting through this drama,…
Hey, best not to argue. Just ignore it. I watched this drama when it first aired 4 episodes. And the rest was history, I was hooked. It's one of the best dramas for me. But not all have the same perspectives as me and you.

Re-watching on NF, ep 35 on that iconic scene - the flow of emotion, conflict, agony between SY and ZY; the endearing background music; feel like watching a Hollywood production of an epic love story.

Ok. After reading all of these so call critics that keep popping up, I think in an alternate universe, if these critics had their way -
First, the casting director, then script writer, well the story was based on a novel, we should add the novelist too and last but not least, the director, all of these guilty parties would lose their jobs, be banned from c-ent for an eternity or even be barred from planet earth. But no worry, in multiverse
these poor souls can move to earth 2, 3, 4… or earth n.
