That Emperor, an a*hole is still an a*hole. Don’t know if he’s getting better as the story unfolds. But for now, at ep 28, he’s beyond redemption. ZY was bold, direct, saying it is what it is that hit him to the core. She smartly shut him down, pointed out that he could not punish SY. That made him direct his anger toward her, using her to punish SY. Poor ZY, keeps getting hurt because of SY. Finally, about time, SY understands that keeping a distance from her isn’t keeping her safe. The villains will keep using her to get to him.
exactly...he's inconsistent and really can't make up his mind. his resolution in keeping himself away from zhu…
Hopefully the big turn of events in the next ep will make them admitting their feelings for each other. It seems like an eternity, we're more than half way already. Most xianxia dramas are like that. But, i still rant😁
Grrr, I went from giddy to teary the last 25-26 eps. I’m getting impatient with SY. He’s such wishy-washy – is he or is he not willing to be with ZY? I get it, forgo worldly emotions for the sake of priesthood blah blah. So why holding on to her handkerchief for dear life? His indecisiveness is irritating. With all excuses he has, with all reasons presented so far, I grudgingly think that he doesn’t deserver her. I said it before, I say it again that I can’t wait to see his hidden, suppressed emotions, feelings finally blow up in his godly, pretty face. I'll get a glass of champagne ready to celebrate.
All the fight scenes thus far are epic – outstanding visual effect, outstanding, effortless movements, even the bad guy looks cool, ripping his shirt off, oh mine! I can’t help but thinking “that’s xianxia on steroid”
ZY gave SY a taste of his own medicine by locking him behind the barrier. The badass, smart, ever naughty, unpredictable, spontaneous ZY never disappoints me. It’s a nice change to see layers and layers of SY’s coldness are peeled off slowly by ZY. it’s adorable to see their interactions. The first time I see him look vulnerable, not in control when he's with her. He was like “what am I going to do with you?”
Nah, she's really mild compared to Bingchang, imo. I was so mad at that character and what she did that triggered the big turn of events of that drama that I dropped dead that drama seriously. I'll come back to finish it in the not near future
SY was subtly shaken, almost spilling the tea when he read the news of ZY’s marriage. It proves that our mighty Priest was not made out of steel. The reunion was sweet and cute. Must say ZY is beautiful in wedding outfit. The scene when SY controlled and diverted the arrows is like coming out of Hollywood’s playbook ( X-Men First Class movie when Magneto controlled and diverted missiles back to the ship that fired at him)
Xianxia dramas mostly like that, slow burn, push, pull, forbidden love, much anguish ... Unlike some modern dramas…
I feel you. I'm more of a K-drama fan, both costume and modern. For C-dramas, I only watch xianxia, wuxia genes. Historical dramas, sometimes I hate it with too much and too depressing harem life. So I just avoid them. Also, modern C-dramas are either too unrealistically fluffy or propaganda machine for the government. I avoid them too.
Xianxia dramas mostly like that, slow burn, push, pull, forbidden love, much anguish ... Unlike some modern dramas at are overloaded with daily dose of sweetness.
Our boys in this drama are lover boys unlucky in love, at least for now. SY – forbidden love, I love you but I can’t be with you blah blah, for all reasons he has. I can’t wait for his hidden emotions blowing up in his pretty face. Yuan – longing for 200 years for his lost love who may, or may not ever come back. Well, we know the answer and my heart aches for him QG– he and his unrequited love, just want to slap his pretty face to knock some sense out of him.
And so I thought finally after 200 years the longing was over for Yuan, that he finally reunited with his soulmate, that regardless of what the future holds for them, together or not, at least he found her. Well, not so fast, no xianxia without a twist of fate, Can’t imagine what he would feel once he finds out. The author of the novel was sure too harsh on Yuan.
Bruth, It was a d*ck move from SY at the end of ep 20. Why would he be so cold and slap into ZY's face like that? The whole "I did this for your sake and to protect you" trope really tees me off.
