Whether you like the romance or not is subjective. But the romance is handled well without making it about JH. It’s more so about YW first experience at love & navigating through it.

YW is still given lots of agency throughout the show so you don’t have to worry about the ML. He’s there as one of her biggest support. The writer makes it a point that this is, first & foremost - YW story.
