somewhere out of nowhere

Just binged 4 ep in one go & overall, I’m intrigued by the premise & want to know what will be the endgame for the trio. The directing is good but the editing is odd lol. The black screen transitions to the next scene is a very odd choice. The show lacks an energetic flare but I prefer this than it being directed & acted in a dramatized manner like those makjang family feud shows ~ example, Penthouse lol. It’s an easy watch so far. I like to watch power struggle & office politics like this!

I love smart & strategic MC so I’m drawn more to Tae Oh! He’s pretty much InHa’s kingmaker. I like how capable & headstrong he’s become after 5 years working for Kang JM as his secretary. He’s the greatest asset Kangoh has right now. With his skills, he can literally work anywhere.

I hope to see InHa’s capabilities. Now that he’s playing a bigger role after ep 4, I want to see him use his brain. Same thing with Hye Won. She needs more scenes! Tae Oh’s been doing the heavy lifting for all 3 of them so far.

In terms of acting, all 3 are doing fine. Jae Wook plays Tae Oh’s stoicism well. Jun Young plays In Ha as expected. As for Hong Suzu, she’s garnered a lot of unwarranted hate, it’s sad. Hye Won is a simpleton maybe a bit lukewarm but it’s the writing. Sure she could bring a bit more energy onscreen. If Hye Won was played by anyone else, it would probably be the same.

No Bu Young or Mr Goh cast announcement 😢The production has also completed filming for ep 3-4.
I read a tweet on Twitter.

There hasn’t been an official announcement for BuYeong or Mr Goh yet.

And the drama has completed filming for ep 3-4.

TvN had an exclusive deal with Netflix but I think that deal ended in 2022 so now who knows where JN will end…
I really hope it’s on Netflix. This drama deserves worldwide exposure. Viki or Amazon is fine too. I don’t think it’ll be Disney+. I hope not lol.

episode 8 is so disappointing why did he have to find out so quick and like this too. I needed a kiss or a true/explicit…
It would been a bolder move too! Let them kiss/confess wholeheartedly before the big gender reveal! C’mon kdrama writers 😒

But then again Lee In did fall in love with Mong Woo before he knew she was a women 😌🌈

That KISS SCENE OMFGG
They kissed 4 TIMES in ONE SETTING 🤩🤭💖

Kind of wanted them to kiss/both confessed before the reveal 😩 I still love that rain confession scene by Lee In 🤭 The angst & the yearning. The kiss scene was well done. 😚💖

Hee Soo really captivated the king. Lee In reciprocated her feelings by kissing her back! Now she knows he feels the same way. She has him under her clutch. Now the question is, will he still put up his guard? Still want to see them battle eachother with their wits. Waiting for that sword fight 🤣 Give me heart break & angst!

Guys!! click on the photos on this page!! 😮 Seems we might get a kiss in episode 8. It will be so cool if she…
I think that’s what happened. She initiated the kiss while a bit drunk in the scene lol.

I do not think ppl here have issue. I have not seen single homophobic comment, the reason why for example I have…
I think it’s more so for the comments not liking the cross dressing aspect-wanting Lee In to find out sooner/already know that’s Mong Woo is a girl, which is not the case for this drama.

But yep, we’re definitely going to get some political
drama/angst for ep 8. Seems like Queen Dowager wants to appease the public’s sentiments about Lee In’s sexuality/liking men by having Lady Dong sleep with Lee In 🤣☹️

Title Captivating the King Spoiler
For ep 8 preview, seems like there’s a rumor of Lee In being attracted to a man. And the Queen Dowager wants to put a stop to it by having Lady Dong sleep with him? And that’s why Hee Soo is sad because she knows she has to cut ties with her feelings for Lee In. I think she gets drunk & Lee In finds her. They are alone together & that’s where Hee Soo as Mong Woo kisses Lee In as hinted by the preview photos 🤣🤭

I know it’s been said many times already but Jo Jung Seok’s acting is just way too good here. He emote with his eyes too damn well!🔥 I hope he gets more offers to play in deep melodrama as the lead role in the future.

For all those saying in the comments that the King must know that the player is a woman because apparently they…
Yep! Shin Se Kyung mentioned that she spent most of her time as Mong Woo & she also liked Lee In & Mong Woo chemistry more. As of ep 7 (& probably ep 8) Lee In still doesn’t know that Mong Woo is a women.

Yes!

"You dislike me."
"No, Your Majesty."
"I do. I... like you, Mong-woo."

The rain confession scene at the end OMG was everything. 🤭💕💕💕💕🌈 The moment Lee In enters the gate walking towards Mong Woo. The way it’s in the rain. The sentimental memories of them when they first played baduk together. I love how Lee In said no fear or disgrace will stop him. He is so confident in his INTENSE feelings for Mong Woo. 😭🫠💕

If ML still doesn't know FL is a woman, would he assume that Mong Woo and Myung Ha were gay? How common was it…
I think he assumes those two might want to be close & form a team against him.

I’m sure men hug eachother (be it familial, friendship, or love). But for this particular scene, Lee In is definitely jealous seeing them hug lol 🤣
