My first time watching LJH in a drama & he’s really hilarious & engaging lol. He’s handsome here & I like that his character is nice but also messed up in a twisted good way. He can packed a real good punch lol. I’ve only seen him in Time to Hunt.
PYG is really good cryer lol. She has major ghibli tears. Her crying scenes are great.
I’m not sure about the drama but in the manhua, A’sun mother is Khitan.A’sun goes find his birth of origin…
Yes most definitely. It’s different experience from the drama but it’s really amazing. I think if you love the drama, you’ll enjoy the manhua. It’s very straightforward.
A’sun & Chang Ge’s dynamic is awesome. You get more of A’sun’s backstory. His character arch is so good.
you guys hate Pyo Ye Jin do you? you guys have nothing else then to hate shut up already and leave
I’m actually impressed that the females characters actually has a role and does something.
I mean without GE, KDG wouldn’t have known where the U-database was at. Heck, the only reason why he was able to get through and bypass a lot of things was because of her.
KHN also has a role. She’s pretty much the moral compass but also the one calling the shots for arrest. KDG can’t do that as a vigilante. I think she also serves as a distraction too which helped KDG from getting caught lol.
SM is a human trafficker keeping all those gross flippers in check lol. Although she needs tighter security or people with more brains lol.
Who was Sun's mother? It isn't implied anywhere right?
I’m not sure about the drama but in the manhua, A’sun mother is Khitan. A’sun goes find his birth of origin where he meets his relatives. His mom died unfortunately which was really sad.
I've been pondering a few questions since the series came to an end and I wonder what everyone else thoughts are.…
I don’t think Chang Ge’s mother could’ve found another way to survive unless she faked her own death? I mean that would’ve been something lol. Her husband tried to create a rebellion. That’s something that isn’t taken lightly.
Manhua wise, it’s much more vague. The story is told in full context. But Chang Ge’s mother was in deep depression & bullied. She didnt aknowledge Chang Ge growing up so I’m not sure if she wanted to live on. But there was too much hurt in her place so it’s all bittersweet & sad.
I’m not too sure about Leyan. She could’ve but does she have the drive to do so. Does she have that passionate rage? Maybe or maybe not. She’s not cunning as Chang Ge. Change is a very flexible & resourceful type of person, especially manhua wise.
Depends on the situation. Drama wise, I haven’t gotten that far into the story since I stopped watching it. From the manhua perspective, she has every right to be angry & her revenge is totally valid. I mean her uncle had her family all murdered lol. I love a good revenge story & morally grey characters, especially flawed female characters. Characters that falls from grace are really interesting but the manhua itself isn’t about that either. But I do hope Chang Ge meet/confronts her Uncle sometimes in the manhua when Xia Da plans to continue it.
I have my own gripes about the drama but it is what it is. For the manhua, I’m totally stoked for it. It hasn’t ended so, I look forward to seeing Chang Ge & A’sun’s journey unfold.
I was afraid KDG was going to fall into the stereotypical stoic & edgy male character but he’s really funny lol & nice. He has a lot more personality than what I expect. So far I’m enjoying it. I like the cast of characters. Some parts are a bit over the top but hey, that’s kdrama land lol.
I love when KDG assumes multiple identity. He’s really working his way to get that theatre degree lol.
Haodu and Leyan had 1 hour 51 minutes in the same frame in the total series. Yes, fans counted. For second lead…
You should definitely try watching Longest Day in Chang An. I hate the villains but I also liked them lol because they’re complete a-holes but also engaging. The protagonists are definitely worth rooting for. The villains are definitely the kind you love to hate.
The music is AMAZING and the cinematography is topnotch with a high production value in terms of the set designs and costumes.

Agree. I don’t have to like a drama 100% wholeheartedly. Constructive criticism or critiques of the show is completely fine. Heck, people don’t really need any reasons to enjoy or not enjoy a show or the characters. They can simply like it or not.
I stopped watching TLB at ep 32 but I still like Chang Ge & A’sun, not just as much as the manhua.
GeSun is the core of the story for the drama as well. Hence the title "Chang ge Xing". But they chose to add extra…
I mean the drama is about GeSun but the side subplot, it’s get a bit muddled. I like the friendship between Chang Ge & Leyan but I don’t really care for the extra new characters. Especially Wei Shu Yu lol. I don’t know why there would be complaints about the drama being about the two main leads. GeSun are the two good things about the show.
The manhua barely had physical intimacy between A’sun & Chang Ge but it’s because of the situation they are placed in. They can’t just be all Willy Nilly with each other lol. It’s a point of their relationship. It’s still growing & they’ve only reached the point of really knowing & understanding each other. The manhua is politics heavy & A’sun & Chang Ge are really two independent people.
The drama had ALOT more romance between GeSun with the hand touching & holding, hugs, bed side moments, and offscreen kiss, lol etc. It’s fine to me if they don’t have a grand wedding or big gesture towards each other like Hao Du & Leyan. In the manhua, Hao Du was pretty much an inspector trying to find Chang Ge’s whereabouts and there was no Leyan or romance. I find those two such a snooze fest in the drama. As a huge GeSun fan, I’m a tad bitter that Hao Du & Leyan had so much screen time. The manhua is very GeSun centric. They are core of the story.
Chang Ge & A’sun were enemies from the beginning. They don’t know much about each other.Chang Ge is really…
It's definitely one of the major key points of the story since establishing merchant convoys and trade routes is important in keeping a stronghold and connections both on the central plains & grasslands. That part of the manhua is so awesome. It's a reason how Master Qin & her entourage was able to find/track Chang Ge when she went incognito lol.
Chang Ge & A’sun were enemies from the beginning. They don’t know much about each other.Chang Ge is really…
Another note in the manhua, Chang Ge and A’sun both undestand that they will have to fight on the battlefield as enemies, but they don’t hold any ill-will or spite towards each other. They both respect & care for each other a lot.
Also, there's alot of great dialogue & interactions exchanged between Chang ge & A'sun. Chang Ge & A'sun as characters have some of the best character development & story arc.
Chang Ge & A’sun were enemies from the beginning. They don’t know much about each other.Chang Ge is really…
A’sun & Chang Ge tells each other if they ever need help, they should come to each other for it.
A’sun regrets letting Chang Ge walked on the snow when they first met.
Chang Ge laughs seeing A’sun in Han attire for the 1st time when they meet again.
Chang Ge establishes merchant convoys with the help of Master Qin, Feng, and A’dou.
A’sun 'sniffing' Chang Ge’s lingering sent on his clothes (they both rode together on a horse).
Change Ge finds her family from her mother's side.
Chang Ge is an advisor to her Uncle Pusa, the Uyghur Elteber.
A’sun tells Mujin that Chang Ge is a girl & that she’s pretty lol.
A’sun ask Mujin to help him write a letter to Chang Ge.
Chang Ge blushes when she reads the letter by A’sun. The letter reads that he’s alive and he finds out that really is Khitan. It also says ‘little strategist/general is pretty’ and he likes it lol. (He was tricked by Mujin)
Chang Ge tells A’sun to do her ‘3 favors’ saying he’s not allowed to die & to live long.
Chang Ge say they both A’sun & her have great minds since they think alike.
Change Ge speaking to A’sun’s ghost lol. She thought he died.
A’sun becomes flustered when he is offer the opportunity to marry Chang Ge from Uncle Pusa. (This scene is so awesome)
A'sun will only marry Chang Ge if she's willing to accept him as her partner.
PYG is really good cryer lol. She has major ghibli tears. Her crying scenes are great.
The grassland arc in the manhua is *chefs kiss* very awesome. But in general, the overall story in the manhua is fantastic.
A’sun & Chang Ge’s dynamic is awesome. You get more of A’sun’s backstory. His character arch is so good.

When KDG landed that punch into CEO’s face, that was so satisfying! I’m glad he’s six feet under. Doesn’t deserve jail on taxpayers dollars lol.

There wasn’t anything lacking for GeSun. But since I like those two, I enjoy watching them.
