Several things about & between the Chang Ge & A’sun that the drama omitted/not included if you want to know…
Chang Ge & A’sun were enemies from the beginning. They don’t know much about each other.
Chang Ge is really cunning & persuasive.
A’sun doesn’t read or write well in Chinese.
Chang Ge persuades A’sun to become his strategist who helps & saves him during the grasslands.
A'sun allows Change Ge to do as she pleases & gifts her things like a new tent, food, clothes etc for being a great strategist. She's not treated like a slave or captive.
A'dou is Change Ge trustee advisor and he does NOT die.
A’sun does not know that Chang Ge is a girl, he finds out by Master Qin.
A’sun choking on wine when Qin tells him that Chang Ge is a girl.
Chang Ge is sickly. She walked barefoot in the snow when she first met A’sun.
Chang Ge does know that she is of Uyghur heritage.
Mimi was Chang Ge’s wife lol.
Chang Ge receives the seal to command the 18 Horsemen of Yan Yun.
A’sun calls Change Ge his “brother” & gives Change Ge her freedom.
A’sun figures out that he is Khitan, not Mongolain/Turk.
A'sun goes to find his origin of birth. His backstory in the manhua is but so heartbreaking.
Because Chang Ge assumes multiple identity, A’sun feels like he’s ‘tricked’ by her lol.
Several things about & between the Chang Ge & A’sun that the drama omitted/not included if you want to know more in depth about their character & their relationship from the manhua.
I have tears in my eyes at this scene. It must have been horrible for the mother to be raped and forced to marry…
In the manhua, it’s more explicitly shown. Chang Ge doesn’t have a good relationship with both her parents. Her mother rarely acknowledges her. Her father doesn’t speak to her. Unlike the drama, the manhua doesn’t explain the why factor. Li Shimin goes off to war & Li Jin marries his brother. Her mother loved her as a baby but she becomes cold as Chang Ge gets older. Chang Ge has conflicts about herself when she thinks about her mom. Her mom was pretty much in a depressed state & I believe she was ill talked about by folks.
I’m partial to female characters so I enjoy Chang Ge in the drama. I wasn’t frustrated with her, just more…
In this point of the manhua, Chang Ge has met her Uncle Pusa, the Uyghur Elteber. Chang Ge and A'sun are not together since they both part ways. There was a battle of warring factions between Uyghur & the Greater Khan/Turks. Chang Ge becomes an advisor to her Uncle Pusa while A'sun fights along with the Turks. They did not know that they would fight eachother but A'sun fails and is captured. Chang Ge realized this after the battle was over so she thinks that the man her Uncle Pusa hangs/kills is A'sun. She becomes distraught and cries out not knowing A'sun is alive and tied up. She faints and A'sun hears it & sees her from inside Uncle Pusa residence. He frees himself from the ropes & runs to her side. It was very hilarious & sweet.
When she wakes up, Chang Ge thought she was talking to A'sun's apparition/ghost in the dark but it was actually him lol. She cries even more & apologizes for the situation they were put in. It was a really great moment between them.

Chang Ge is a tad more restraint in her emotions in the manhua although the scenes when she cries is so great, especially when she cried for Mimi & when she thought she had A’sun k*lled lmfao.

Change Ge is awesome. She’s one of my favorite fictional female character. Manhua wise, I adore A’sun. I like that he’s not a know it all or great at everything. He gives off ‘big himbo energy’ as they say lol.
Now that you mentioned it, you’re absolutely right!! The actions scenes does feel a lot more realistic here…
I like the scene when Chang Ge grabs the dagger from A’sun’s waist sheath and tries to stab him then tries to stab herself but he grips onto her wrists and flings it to the side. I like that scene. The physical tension lol. It was very WOW lol.
I was reminiscing the times when a few of us were frustrated with changge and some of her decisions throughout…
I’m partial to female characters so I enjoy Chang Ge in the drama. I wasn’t frustrated with her, just more so the writing lol during the grassland arc. Change Ge is just cool. I love flaw female characters. They’re more interesting. I like her more than A’sun surprisingly.
I didn’t care much for Hao Du or Leyan. Yes, A’sun & Chang Ge are awesome. Although, I like Chang Ge & Leyan’s…
Although it’s not shown in a overt romantic manner like the drama, A’sun & Chang Ge’s relationship in the manhua is beautiful & well written/developed.
