Now I'm watching 'Love like the Galaxy' and I still think 'The Long Ballad' is the best in this genre. What did…
I actually like Leo more as LBY.
For one thing, the drama butchered Ashina Sun characterization. Itβs like heβs not even the same guy in the manhua. Because he has way more personality & isnβt a know it all kind of guy. Heβs not perfect in the manhua. And his arc & development in the manhua is awesome-better.
The drama also downplayed Chang Ge ability as a strategist. Not once was she Ashina Sun right hand strategist during the grassland arc (in the drama) which was the whole point in the manhua. Which resulted in her character development -arc to suffer. Itβs pivotal to her story arc but also to her relationship with Ashina who she no longer view as an enemy but someone as kin - can rely on. She won his favor-respect & he praised her - showers her with gifts, food, and her own tent (as a sworn brother).
Where Ashina lacked is where Chang Ge shines and vice versa. They are like yin & yang in the manhua. Ashina is more brawn while Chang Ge is more brain. The dialogue between Ashina & Chang Ge in the manhua is also beautiful β¨π Not only that - Ashina respects Chang Ge SOOO much in the manhua. β¨π«ππ
Also, I like his onscreen chemistry more with Lusi.
As for the genre itself, itβs like comparing apples to oranges π
Can someone recommend me dramas like A dream of splendor, Love like the Galaxy and the long ballad... which have…
You should def check out Story of MingLan. The same novelist for LLTG. Not screenwriter though.
GTY the ML is the definition of big loving husband energy β¨ππ I wouldnβt say itβs angst free but it has angst but in a good way. Happy ending too.
Really liking the emperor of this drama... kinda cute lol(only on ep 13 so I hope he doesn't turn into a villain)
Heβs the most lenient emperor Iβve ever seen lol. Heβs BY biggest Cupid-match makerπ π€£π€£π€£π€£ He really dotes on BY like itβs his own blood son.
It has over 167k + comments.

Part 1 & 2 with an 8.9 & 9.0 rating. Thatβs really amazing. What other drama with 2 parts reached that high rating? Only LLTG π₯ππβ¨
Sheβs one of those actress if given a solid script with good director & production, she hits it out of the ball park! β¨
Lusi has lots of potential. Hope to see her in more dramatic work that showcase her skills. ππ₯°
Itβs been number #1 for Mon/Tues timeslot since it aired.
Iβm definitely enjoying itβ¨π
Wasnβt too keen on that drama. Hopefully the overall script & direction is good. I hope the voices arenβt dub.
Can you imagine BJT & Lusi onscreen together. π«
