one of the most brutal cdrama endings I've ever watched.... where every other side couples / second FLs and second MLs died??! and even FL dies.... super heartbreaking ending for ML 😭💔

fully agree that if this had more episodes, I think the plot would be definitely more fleshed out and fully developed. some parts of the storyline lacked depth, and you're right that even though 2ML took up quite a bit of screentime, i don't think we felt anything much for him

I miss the times when xianxias had 50-60 episodes and could fully tell a story properly 🥲

and YES the 4 venerables and 3 rockmen were such a total waste of screentime, what was even the point...

fully agree I wished this has full 40 episodes, alot of the plotlines could've been developed better. e.g. the entire plot of her first revenge was brought back in such short flashbacks. I wished they showed more of that part, what she did to gather the artifacts, and also show more suffering on BJS part for the 100 years. We didn't see anything about him being sealed for 100 years, we only hear about it.

And then whole showdown happened so quickly as well, and suddenly she has self-immolated (in a way). Nothing about it feels painful to us as viewers.

genuinely, why do you consider the ending open? BJS is revived, they kissed, and the words at the end said that their love tribulation has ended and they will never part again. I don't get how that's considered open? to me that's an absolute HE.

I really thought that the ending will be as open as that scene where she looks down into the ice with slight shock and leave the rest to our imagination. I'm happy we got so much more than that.

I agree with the part where we don't see how he actually fell for her - from fighting for a thousand years and suddenly he presented her flowers and kissed her? I wish we could've seen the motivation for that and what made him do that

however I don't agree that we don't see that he loves her and that's why he took the punishment for her. by that time they have been in the human realm and spent days and nights with each other for 50 years. they also showed their sweet moments of spending time and falling in love together, like learning calligraphy/painting, him combing her hair for her in a very tender, loving manner. and then also he fanned her to sleep. These actions literally oozes love.

imo I think this is the best and most befitting one of current timeline. it is the only HE they could've had. their past is sad but it shouldn't be erased because it's what they went through together

me too, but he did really well! his eyes emote so much, you really feel that he loves the FL deeply

plotwise, I think it's actually really good. twists that were hard to see coming, and the reasons for the misunderstandings and love turned hate is very believable as well.

he literally only appears for less than 5 minutes in total :(

RIP to him, honestly felt sad watching his scenes
