Actually i feel some subtle romance at ep. 13 and earlier eps.. but after the bro spider plot.. it totally gone..
I tried so hard to see some romance but I wasn't able to.. even in all the flash back scenes where they tried to show some love between then, all I can see is Fugui being super nice and compassionate to a spider demon. Fugui character is written that way, he's so nice to everyone. It's a nice master disciple relationship.
This might be an unpopular opinion, but I saw 0 romance between ML and FL through the whole series. I just saw a master and disciple relationship, which is totally fine. As long as the expectations are set from the beginning. I wish I knew before getting into the series that there is no romance between the leads. Yes that sound track from LIP is legendary, my favorite fight scenes from SAB are when they reuse the LIP sound track! It instantly Amps up the whole fight sequence for me :)

Yes I have watched closely. But I was hoping he will change after getting out of the yi qi alliance and become a more interesting character. I have nothing against Cheng yi, but the character fugui is written quite poorly.

LIP is an epic love drama and Wangquan Hongye and Dongfang Huazui were the dream couple! I was so excited for sword and beloved, because I am a huge li yi tong fan. But this drama is so damn disappointing. Wangquan fugui from SAB does not hold a candle to Wangquan Hongye depiction in LIP. Even Qing tong as a character is very sad for a FL. I'm not sure if it was intentional for ML to be depicted as some kind of emotionless robot throughout the whole drama. At this point the side characters in this drama are more interesting than the mains! I'm just so disappointed because my expectations were so high after LIP.
