Oh absolutely, there is no redemption for ZX. But I was not able to understand Rong and ZX relationship in the past. Episode 12 answered a lot of my questions.

Yes, he did read the message. NXG thought that if ZX was just friends with Rong , he would respond back saying there's nothing between them. He didn't respond because there was actually something between him and Rong. It wasn't official but they were like unconfirmed 'sweethearts '. He might have expressed interest in Rong, she might have just kept him dangling and used NXG to test ZX feelings for her. She didn't expect his heart to sway towards NXG. ZX didn't know that rong lied to NXG about their relationship, which is what caused NXG to confess in the first place.
That's what I understood from episode 12. He said he paid the price for trusting Rong.

I've not read the novel but the episode 12 was eye opening. So basically, rong lied in the past to NXG when she asked about her friendship with ZX. It looks like ZX had expressed interest in rong, but she kept him dangling without "confirming" anything. She used NXG to test ZX feelings for her and whether he will sway. Bad luck for her, that actually his heart did sway for NXG. That also explains why he never responded to NXG apology messaging saying she didn't know about ZX and Rong relationship. Rong is the absolute worst person, HATE HER! She has messed things up for both of them. Felt bad for him when he said he paid the price for trusting her.

Can someone spoil it for me? What was the misunderstanding that caused the accident in the beginning of the series? His friend told him that NXG has a crush on him and wanted to meet him for the date and LYS got into an accident on the way. But she clearly doesn't recognize him in the later episodes. What exactly happened?

I tried so hard to see some romance but I wasn't able to.. even in all the flash back scenes where they tried to show some love between then, all I can see is Fugui being super nice and compassionate to a spider demon. Fugui character is written that way, he's so nice to everyone. It's a nice master disciple relationship.

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I saw 0 romance between ML and FL through the whole series. I just saw a master and disciple relationship, which is totally fine. As long as the expectations are set from the beginning. I wish I knew before getting into the series that there is no romance between the leads. My expectations were high because of love in pavillion.

I loved hongye's character though, I actually became a huge fan of Leon Zhang after LIP. Hua zui was very calm and had a pure heart true! Fugui definitely takes more after his mom than dad. I don't see any of hongye's passion in fu gui.

Love in the Pavilion is the best, such an epic drama. Wangquan Hongye and Dongfang Huazui are the dream couple. After watching Sword and Beloved, I'm so disappointed that I started rewatching LIP again.

Yes that sound track from LIP is legendary, my favorite fight scenes from SAB are when they reuse the LIP sound track! It instantly Amps up the whole fight sequence for me :)
