I'm enjoying this - have arrived to when they all have to run away and am just getting over the frustration of the process being more complicated because they hung around for a couple of months "preparing". I was just yelling JUST GO for the last episode, because as soon as Wang Rong had no fear in assaulting someone he clearly knew was the Gu Xiao Furen, their time was UP.
That's idiotic, this is a TV drama that needs a plot no? She doesn't know her Dad is evil and corrupt, thus she…
My theory is that her (awful) dad was behind the downfall of her mother's family, so her mother was forced to marry her father or be sold into slavery. Otherwise there would be no reason really for the massive revenge her mother took, even willing to go down with the family.
This is a way of looking at the story that I never thought of! I had always seen it as a sort of revenge against the upper classes with Yingluo finally getting revenge on the Prince who raped her sister and caused her murder. But you are right - it is a bit frustrating to have her be 'in love' with someone who treated her and others so badly. I just love the character so much, she's one of my favourite c-drama heroines, it's difficult for me to see any flaws in her. And Nie Yuan is so amazing in the role of the Emperor that it kind of deflects from his many flaws.
Wish ML had the white-haired version for longer. It gave off such a badass vibe.
FINALLY SOMEONE SAYS WHAT IVE THOUGHT ALL ALONG!! I don’t want to put words in your mouth but man, I’m on episode 16? And it’s seriously starting to drag, I’m getting annoyed because first episode broken Song Mo with his hair down was exponentially hotter than current Song Mo who absolutely never has his hair out of the topknot, not even to sleep?? And another pet peeve, FL lies down with her hair full of pins; girl you’re gonna wake up with your scalp scratched up.
I don’t know if I’m going to continue this, it’s just turning into yet another women be attacking each other drama . I mean I love Meng Ziyi being hella competent in a role but Song Mo was such a badass character in the first episode, I miss him.
Thanks for this - I thought I was the only one who was disappointed. Just a question: does Dilraba's character become the pirate queen in the original novel? Because I kind of hated that part. I thought I was going to watch a grown up traumatised character play the waiting game for revenge etc, instead I get piratey hijinks, which I wasn't there for. And Gong Jun. Oh lord. He wasn't given anything to do though, which only makes me want to rewatch Word of Honor.
The wedding attire for both the brides were nice but I like the hair and accessories of the SFL. Some of the scenes…
If they have to do it (they don't) at least do the white silk handkerchief in the bed as I've seen in other shows - the only thing I thought was, wow, those lovely brocades are ruined now.
zhao lusi stops being her damsel in distress role in who rules the world if you still wanna give another try
I'll think about it! To be honest, I did like her performance in the first two thirds of Tiger and Rose, then it's the storyline which absolutely went downhill and I could not continue. I've heard good things about Who Rules the World and I might give it a try.
I've been tricked into watching 4 episodes of Love like the Galaxy, by someone who said that Zhao Lusi was not at her most annoying - well she WAS, just the quiet 'oh woe is me I'm such a victim' annoying. Also Wu Lei, who actually acted in the Long Ballad, has now turned back into a block of wood. What I'm trying to say is, how come that got a release, and our poor boys are still in limbo? This is an injustice. And I'd like my 2 hours back.
Still enjoying it, though.
