Oh, so now you've shifted from no one is watching to criticizing the pacing; its a slow-burn romance that navigates emotional depth and tension, which is why it's been successful. Not every drama needs immediate physical intimacy to be a hit. Anyways, thanks for confirming you're secretly watching the drama. You sure seem to be keeping up with the episodes 🤣

Lol, facts do not exaggerate. The 8:50 pm slot is tvN's prime-time anchor for the week, and ranking #1 in that slot proves it's the top choice among the available audience. Calling a 6% peak 'low' ignores the current climate of drama, where even 50-billion-won shows are hitting the 2% range. Also, Prime has over 200 million subs, and hitting the global top 5 this month isn't 'minuscule'; it's a massive international reach that community sites like MDL don't have the data to track. Also, for someone who claims the drama is 'miniscule' and that 'no one is watching,' you sure seem to spend a lot of time monitoring its comment section and tracking its stats. It’s funny how the people who claim to care the least are always the most dedicated to keeping the conversation going. Thanks for the extra engagement! 😉

The idea that 'no one is watching' is factually incorrect. According to Nielsen Korea, the show has consistently ranked #1 in its time slot and reached a peak of 6.0% nationwide, a very strong performance for a tvN cable drama. Internationally, it's a huge success, officially reaching the Global Top 5 on Amazon Prime Video this month. Communities like MDL track only a tiny fraction of the millions watching Prime globally, and using them as a measure of a drama's success or failure is utterly ridiculous. But thank you for your comment 😊! I totally agree with you! I remember the wave of negativity when the casting and age gap were first announced, and honestly, I never understood the pushback. Age-gap relationships are a part of real life, so seeing them in a fictional story shouldn't be so controversial, especially when the writing is this strong. Love doesn't always follow a neat, 'standard' timeline.
I’ve been hooked since the first two episodes, and it’s been incredible to watch the story grow and prove the skeptics wrong. It’s actually been a long time since I’ve been this invested in a drama; I find myself counting down the days until Monday and Tuesday! I’m so glad the 'hate' has been silenced by the sheer quality of the show. I really hope your updated review convinces more people to look past the initial noise and give it the chance it deserves. I will be doing the same with my initial review as well 😍
Is it just me, or does Im Hyeon Jun have the most iconic walk? I absolutely loved this episode, and I’m low-key heartbroken that the drama is coming to an end. This show caught me totally off guard, and I loved it way more than I ever expected.
Con artists, corrupt cops, drugs, back stabbings, vengeance, and high-caliber shootouts, Villains is hitting every mark. I’ve always said I’d watch Yoo Ji Tae read a phone book, but seeing him as a genius crime architect is next level. Even if Lee Min Jung isn't usually my go-to, this show is too slick to ignore
I didn't think I would like this drama as much as I do. Wi Jeong Sin fan girling Im Hyeon Jun when they are apart, but feeling all kinds of ways when they are face to face is hilarious and feels so real. I have to say I am enjoying Lee Jung Jae as Im Hyeon Jun a lot more than I thought I would.
I think We need to know more about Juyeong and her husband. What he is isnt okay but its obvious he feels, trapped…
Violence is unacceptable in any situation, but I think it stems from frustration for Jun Yeong, and I agree we may need to wait to learn more. Still, she knows, deep down in her core, that he is not interested in having a child; she might not know that he isn't interested in her, but she knows something is totally off, or she wouldn't go snooping in his mom's house. Na Jeong's boss mentioned he needed to stop cheating several times now that she was working in the same office and that everyone knew about them, so it seems like it is a full-on affair, but I guess it's a red herring. Societal pressures that encourage, worse, demand that women stay in bad marriages rather than be single are so infuriating. I said this because I come from such a society. It's crippling.
Don't Call Me Ma'am does a phenomenal job of capturing the suffocating pressure on women to sacrifice their happiness in the face of tradition, and the entitlement that, even if wronged, one should pretend as if nothing happened is overwhelming to watch. Honestly, the message this drama sends, and I hope there is one, needs to be strong in that divorce taboos and entitled behaviours cannot and will not trump mental health and personal well-being.
My frustration with Ju Yeong seems to grow with each episode. She is desperately hanging on to a man who clearly is not interested in her, let alone conceiving a child. His selfishly indulgent obsession with dolls speaks volumes. His lack of interest in her is devastating, and frankly, I'm furious that she puts up with it. She needs to prioritize herself and get rid of him. Letting go of that baggage would be the ultimate act of self-care, and I hope she gets there soon.
How about the situation with Na Jeong? It's enraging! The fact that her cheating husband and everyone at their workplace is in on the secret, leaving her completely in the dark, is a collective cruelty. I was desperate for the big reveal in this episode, not sure if she finds out or not, but I hope she gets rid of him on the spot when she does.
I sincerely hope the takeaway from this drama is a liberating one: that it is absolutely okay for women to shed anything and anyone that weighs them down in this world, and to refuse to uphold toxic traditions just for the sake of it. Women everywhere should choose themselves first. On a separate note, some of these outfits are not work-appropriate. Who dresses like that to the office????
why’s season 3 available on Netflix Korea but not Netflix international? I thought SBS were going to release…
It basically comes down to licensing agreements. Netflix has to buy the rights to stream a show in every single country separately. Just because they paid for it in Korea doesn't mean they bought the rights for it to stream every where else. Sometimes another streaming service beat them to it, or Netflix just didn't think enough people would watch it locally to justify the cost.
None of them deserve to live. From the person who designed the trap for innocent girls and women to the hands that grabbed them, to the ones that thought it was okay to traffic human beings, what an abomination. They are all guilty. But the buyers, they are the ones fueling the engine. They are the filth of the earth. They don't deserve a trial. They deserve to be shot dead where they sit. It makes me sick to my stomach. Humans truly are the monsters. That said, I am honestly obsessed with Kasamatsu Sho right now. But beyond him, I have so much respect for the fact that this show actually cast established Japanese talent. It’s makes the whole experience so much more authentic.
Wow, three seasons in and the show is still strong, still as impactful, if not even more, than ever, and it's only the first episode. While watching the first few opening minutes, I couldn't shake the feeling that this season, or at least the opening episodes, were going to hit closer to reality than ever, especially when I think about what's happening right now in Sudan, Somalia, South Africa, and other places around the world. These aren't places I'm mentioning lightly; they're places where sexual violence and trafficking of women aren't just issues, they're ongoing emergencies. And honestly, as I watched the first episode of Taxi Driver 3 swoop in to try and save victims the world has forgotten, I found myself wishing something like that actually existed for the countries and women who need it the most. That said, can we take a moment to swoon over Kasamatsu Shō; I loved him in Tokyo Vice (highly recommend if you haven’t watched it yet); it is so good to see him here. I am here for this season all the way!!!
